  • After a year plus homebased in Sanford, FL aboard our boat, we're heading out on our first extended cruise. We're seeking salt water where dolphins might swim around us.
Join us for a scenic cruise down (the river flows north after all!) the St. Johns River from Sanford to Jacksonville as we explore amazing anchorages and things on land.
We so love the St. Johns River and taking it slow! And we're excited to be sharing our first travelogue in a long long while!

We're Cherie & Chris and we've been full time technomads since 2006. We are owned by Kiki (meow).
We have a fleet of nomadic vessels that we split our time between - a 1961 GM 4106 vintage bus, a 1999 Bayliner 4788 motor yacht and a 2016 Travato 59G van conversion. You'll find RV, van and boat life content here, as we feel inspired to share - sometimes topical, sometimes travelogues, sometimes just hanging out.
We love sharing a slice of our life with others, and also blog at www.technomadia..., Facebook and Instagram. We use the name 'Technomadia' in all those places. Come join the adventure however you choose!
Income generation is NOT a goal of ours under the 'Technomadia' brand - we do this for fun. While not an expectation, sharing the love back sure keep us inspired to keep sharing. Ways you can say thanks here: www.technomadia... (but honestly, leaving comments is awesome!)
Our full time 'job' is running the Mobile Internet Resource Center, where we track and educate RVers and cruisers on their options for keeping connected. Come join us at www.MobileInter... for news, guides, reviews and courses. We also have a dedicated TH-cam channel / mobileinternetresource... you can subscribe to. Through member funding, we can give away a lot of free content - and our members get even more.

I have to agree with the others . . the map animation brought the landscape visuals alive, as it provided a location for the wonderful locations you were in. Loved the "encounter at houseboats" moment, especially since I was a houseboat owner in the past. and yes, the floating frathouses can be annoying . . . even way back then! Thank you for taking us along for the ride. I really do appreciate it.

Great video you guys.....loved the map showing the route as you cruised up the St John. There is a difference seeing it (Boat route up the St John) on google maps and then seeing the way you guys did on your video. Very well done. Thanks for taking the time to edit the video to show that.

Loved your two videos on the river. We have cruised up and down the US east coast, and this year are thinking about staying closer to home in Miami Beach. We have always had the St John’s on our list. Our boat is bigger than yours, 64 feet, draws 5 feet. Is the trip doable in a boat that big. We enjoy anchoring out, so marinas are not an issue. Also, we are thinking about mid October or so, when hurricanes start tailing off. We would love your thoughts on this. Thanks in advance,

There are boats even larger on the river, it's maintained for commercial vessels. Lake Monroe (Sanford) might be an issue however, as sometimes the depths in the channel are 7-8'.

I just had time to watch this. Glad you guys were able to get out and "exercise" the boat. I'm hoping Kiki is doing better now that she's had her radioactive treatment and is back to snuggles with her people. Love your videos!

Happy to see this show up in my Feed, at least on my PC (in Recommended) - even though I am a subscriber. I think what happens is I am subscribed to about ~30 channels, and they are "out posting" you in quantity. Keep up the good work, and stay safe. I watched this after 4pm EDT. It wasn't in my recommended on TV this morning (9am EDT) Wish you all the best.

Which part (not sure what this video is now nearly 2 years out). But the river is maintained to a minimum of 8' - and it can vary throughout the year. Like after Hurricane Ian, we were up 8-9' over average.
