Graham, I wish we could forcibly modernize all elevators to that style. We have a few where I live and they are SO GOOD. They are designed to optimize load logistics by taking everything out of human hands (because people are dumb). The TL;DR is that it calculates the best route to: 1. Organizing people before they get into the cars. 2. Minimize the trip distance for each car. 3. Schedule pickups of everyone going to the same floor. 4. Prevent "press up to go down" or "press down to go up" practices to "game" the system... I've written a 10 page essay on why this is the SINGLE DUMBEST thing you could do with an elevator, but I'll spare you the details.
Real talk about Friday Nights and Yugioh: I first got into Friday Nights while I was playing Yugioh and much of the comedy translates to non-magic card games. I can easily see watching Friday Nights getting someone back into a card game they once enjoyed, just because the situations explored, at least in that first series, can make one feel nostalgic for a time when they had a group of people to play card games with
Is it possible Jackbox Games and Penny Arcade are the architects of some grand conspiracy intended to ensure that A) Beej and Graham never make the LRR panel on time, and B) that they must always take the longest possible route from theatre to theatre? #FollowTheMoney #Chemtrails (Seriously, thanks for putting these up within a day, especially at the con; I had to skip East this year, and these definitely take some of the sting from it.
Remember: Jerry is still pretty involved with PAX, and we all know what a malicious trickster he is. I'm sure it wouldn't take much on his part to encourage the organizing staff to arrange the panels to keep The Running of the LRRs a PAX tradition. ;)
I love seeing GVlogs, whether at-con or otherwise, but the con ones really give you the feeling of working a con. Been (not exactly) there, done (not precisely) that, quite an experience :)
I was laughing so hard at the small cadre of folks running alongside you guys between the panels. If this starts happening consistently, I think the number of people may in fact grow as cons pass. I'm sure there's a joke in there with calling it the LoadingPanelRun or something, but... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
2:39 - I will cosign that Friday Nights (along with Tolarian CC) got me back into TCGs, specifically landing on the Final Fantasy TCG, and I thank you guys for it.
I'd love to have that DeForrests Kelly sticker for my mom, she's a huge Trekkie and the reason I'm a geek. Star Trek III was the first movie I remember going to see in the theatres, with my mother.
Pro tip: If you need to get to the Tabletop area, stay on the second level as long as you can. Don't try to cut trough the Expo floor. It's way too crowded.
