Ronnie was right to complain about the quality of young snooker players, today. This game almost put me to sleep. Compare this with a 14 year old Stephen Hendry, or a 15 year old O'Sullivan playing Pot Black. In a different league.

@rick kemp....thank you, people are afraid to call something for what it is for fear of offending the easily offended.
I've said elsewhere in threads that this performance indicates very little that would hint at future greatness, it's one game! His rhythm and fluidity are painful to watch, potting balls is one thing, maintaining a consistent flow is something entirely different.
Wait until he has done something in the game before heaping praise upon him, this toxic positivity we are surrounded by is a falsehood.

That comment says more about your level of emotional intelligence than anything else. The fact remains that this kid, as good as he may or may not be, is no more exciting to watch than hedge trimming.

@im Inc...What exactly are you talking about? Every player has something natural about their game, they wouldn't make the grade if they didn't, it's known as genetic ability. As for coaching, that is part of any young players game on their way up.
He is hesitant at this point, almost painfully slow in fact, but that again is just his temperament. He is a good player, no question, but the world is full of good players...I see nothing particular in his game that arbitrates your claim of future greatness.

Some rather unfair comments about the pace of the game. Each player has their own way of playing, and this kid is a thinker and planner, all with a solid cueing action. He is probably 5 years or so away from playing professionally. Let’s see how he develops in the meantime. My advice to him would be, don’t change a thing. He probably still has a lot to learn about the tactics of the game. Just avoid making mistakes, and put your opponent under pressure all the time. Digby Long
