A wall oven would be a deal breaker for me too. Who wants to bend to lift a heavy item out of a regular oven, or get on the floor to clean it. Wall ovens are great.
My wife and I looked at several places. Originally thought the villages, but once I was there to experience it, decided it wasn’t for us. Not that there is anything wrong with TV, but it just wasn’t what we expected. Way too big and no end in sight for expanding. We decided on another community close to TV, so if we want to go to a square/play/concert we are 6 minutes away. Agree do your research, when relocating over 1K miles in our case, get a good agent and don’t “settle”, get exactly what you want in your budget. There are many options.

Any couple spending 2 days every week at Disneyworld should live near Orlando. Sooner or later, even golfing 3 or 4 times a week gets boring. I would think the same goes for Disney. That's when the 3500 clubs and activities of the TV comes into play.
Senior communities are a HUD protected class with a certain percentage designated to 55 and over..So other adults ages are accepted..Back in 1988 the decision was made in Washington to eliminate all adults communities as well...

This video could have been much more helpful. The moderator was lousy, just let the conversation wander into talking about health of fam, etc., non essentials. Would have been bettr to have a pt by pt effort abt each community, describe good bad etc.
My parents lived in The Villages for 6 years before my mom passed away. Purchasing a new home was a good experience for them as the Villages operated swiftly and things went off without a hitch. My mom didn't like the limitations they had to work with in design. I've found that often times it comes down to an affordability and what a person's hobbies are. If you play golf a lot, then you will probably want to live in The Villages due to the severe restrictions for non-Villages residents. The same goes for if you're looking to meet new people. Those that feel they can safely afford it tend to choose The Villages. Those that are unsure...it comes down to how much they think the extra cost of living in The Villages is worth it.
Agreed. Villages is great but the reality is you are leaving a larger home outside of Florida and moving to a smaller and more expensive home in Florida. Villages is great for people who plays lots of golf and are clique oriented.

The big plus is that you can do most of your errands and entertainment by golf cart, not just some in the villages. Although outnumbered, there are more Democrats here than you think.
We personally visited K. Hovnanian's Four Seasons and found it disappointing. Next to a Smelly Water Treatment Plant and a Very Sketchy Neighborhood ! ! HARD 🤬 PASS

Try Montgomery County Maryland. Returning from Florida to that dump was a shock. The DC metro I had to take from Reagan airport is a national disgrace. It looks like it carries plague.

I have to say I love The Villages BUT I prefer some of the designs in places like Royal Highlands.

Yes, the apartments are in Brownwood. Other apartments are on the outskirts and you don't get the priveledges of TV.
