Great video and explanation into costs with manufacturing. I don't think people put enough perspective on this market of flight sim. A+

I believe what you find enjoyable about this 6 pack is they appear to be the actual size (3") of the flight instruments you would find in a real plane. Your distance from the panel is what it would be in the airplane making them much easier to read. Your computer monitor is producing a view of the panel as if you were siting in the plane plus you have the distance from the monitor. In other words you would probably need a much larger monitor to produce the actual 6 pack size you should see. Or maybe I'm just full of it.

Some people do not understand how niche the flight sim market is. We're not talking selling hundreds of thousands of panels. We're talking selling hundreds or maybe low thousands. The costs are going to be high, just like everything in the flight sim market. I've looked at building Airbus/Boeing panels and yep, nothing is cheap!

What I don’t like about this product is I still have to move my hand between the panel knobs and the mouse to mess with the AP and the radios etc. nice panel though

I have enough parts for 10 Warthog slew mods. All 10 cost me about half the price as purchasing one. Properly sourcing parts makes a big difference.

I'm a noobie to this.. I was just saying it to reference how expensive things have become from a personal perspective. I'm sure if I knew what I was doing I could find things cheaper lol. Was just trying to make a point compared to a few years ago

I'm all for making things "cheap" as a DIY. But there are times when you know you can't do the polish that a commercial product will be able to do, it's just not possible in onesies and twosies, you need to have proper manufacturing behind you to do it "right".

I really don't understand the bitterness some FS enthusiasts have against the peripherals or software to support our hobby. It seems as if for some people, if they can't afford it, then instead of simply stating that it's out of their price range, they complain that the developer is ripping them off. Ultimately, the market will decide whether a price is too high or just right. If this guy sells a million units, good for him. If he sells a hundred, then he'll have to drop the price or do something to make it more worthwhile to purchase. Same goes with any business - if McDonalds starts to charge $50 for their meals, they'll see a drop in sales. It's Economics 101, folks.

Most folks prefer to blame others for their problems rather than blame themselves.

I made the DIYSim 737 throttle quadrant. Paid Karl for the 3D models for the 3D print, using PLA+, the hardware, and finally software for it. All in, I spent $225.
It’s hike the price for profit, maybe I could sell it at $300, yet there are folks sell the exact same thing for $500+ sssssoooooo…. 🤷

If you tried to sell something 3d printed with pla to the general public you’d be constantly replacing broken parts. I home built a 737 cockpit but there’s all the difference in the world doing something for your own use and producing commercial products.
