    Slight I have the 2023 Silver SE ABS model and I just installed GREY Vans Cult grips OMG They look sooo kewl in Grey ~! Install, 10 min to cut both grips off, 15 minutes getting all the old glue off, five minutes to hairspray and slide and straighten them on. Waiting now for them to dry so I can ride. 70 degrees and sunny in Eugene Or today ~! Kit

    Thanks for the video! I’m looking to buy these, and it says I also need to buy a throttle tube, is that right? I have a 21 Rebel 300

    • @SLIGHT_
      @SLIGHT_  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No. The throttle has tube is already on the rebel. You’re only removing the grip.

    What are the benefits of using the Vans Grips. Is it just comedic or do they feel or perform better than stock? Kit

    • @SLIGHT_
      @SLIGHT_  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Many reasons for me personally…
      Some of the positives… Thickens up the grip, reduces some vibration, in wet conditions they seem to have a better grip. Many colours to choose from, Plus I’m a huge fan of Vans ;) so it’s fitting for me.
      Negatives… they wear out much faster then stock, the wrist saver thing many people put on their throttle side… doesn’t fit well, yet it can be done though.
      Hope this helps

    So, not sure if you can help me. But I actually super glued my stock grips to my bike since they were moving around. Now that I want better grips they won't budge. Any tips for removing these?

    • @SLIGHT_
      @SLIGHT_  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Like actual super glue or grip glue?
      Super glue… you will have to cut them off like it did… yet you’ll have to add a step… acetone-based nail polish… you will need to use this to aid in removing the grip and the residue. If that doesn’t work try 2:1 mix of water and white vinegar let it soak and then with a rough cloth or fine sandpaper you’ll be able to remove the residue.
      Grip glue… add some heat from a heat gun or hair dryer to aid in removal… nail polish remover (acetone) will aid in removal of glue.
      Hope this helps.

    • @dat1phoenix173
      @dat1phoenix173 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SLIGHT_ I believe it was super glue. I just removed them with a box cutter and I will try to remove the residue now

    • @SLIGHT_
      @SLIGHT_  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@dat1phoenix173 same thing. You need to soak it… use the 2:1 mixture and let it soak. This will take some time.

    I just installed new Biltwell grips to my 2017 Rebel 500, after installing them I noticed that my throttle became very loose. Now I have to turn it almost 2/3 of the way for it to even engage.
    Has anyone here had this issue after installing new grips?
    If so, how did you solve it?

    • @SLIGHT_
      @SLIGHT_  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That’s an odd thing to happen… throttle tube and grip mated together properly? You didn’t loosen your throttle cables did you?
      I would love more info on this. You shouldn’t have that issue at all.

    • @christianmercado5510
      @christianmercado5510 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@SLIGHT_ Apparently I did loosen the throttle cable, I used too much force to get the old grip out. After asking around I should have used a razor blade to cut the old one out. But, you live and you learn lol
      I’ll be adjusting the cable tomorrow. Thanks for the input :)
