I love games that are full of secrets like this one and Bubble Bobble. You can play them for decades and still learn new things about them.
Truly the golden age of the arcade.
Used to play this every time I saw this in the arcade. I don’t think I knew what I was doing.
Love Pacland - it really reminds me of the arcades on the sea front in the 1980s. Funny, but this video has way less views than my others so maybe it's just us that remember it.
I saw this game when I was 6 or 7 years old. No one at the time had any idea what they hell they were doing!

The game doesn't do a very good job of explaining its play mechanics, especially the more complex stuff.
This is useful, but a bit high level for most players. Most people don't even know how to keep themselves aloft when jumping over bodies of water... you need to rapidly tap right after jumping off the springboard. The recent Pac-Man Museum Plus makes this almost impossible, as left and right are assigned to the D-pad and cannot be changed.
Pacman Museum + you can. The D-pad ain't that bad but you can change it to a button
One of my all time favourites, many 10p's were put in down the arcades back in the 80s. Still love it today, good job showing off the secrets 👍 The only one I didn't know was the 7650 balloon one, very cool!
I frantically googled "what does the flower mean" because I always wondered that when I played the arcade as a kid. Sadly it's just a decoration, doesn't do anything.
I love this game so much, played it as a kid. Would save up my money to go play it in the arcade. Now I have it on the switch so kool.

Headmaster pulled me out of the arcade once in the 80s, I had a bunch of credits as well on Pacland!
Steve. I started playing Pac-Land again when I first got the Super Pac-Man Partycade and then, the Pac-Man Legacy Edition and Ms. Pac-Man Legacy Edition Arcade Cabinets from Arcade 1Up and it brings me back memories. One change is that when Pac-Man reaches the Break Time stage for a "breather," the house in the background is no longer a church like the arcade original. But like the old saying, "Practice, Practice, Practice." Watching this video more inspires me to try to master this game even though I have a long way to go.
Brilliant tips, but I was hoping you'd give an explanation of how to always jump over the river... because that's where I always fail!
It's definitely a tough part of the game, especially the longer jumps. If you hold down jump and push right rapidly while in the air you fly for longer. So don't HOLD right repeatedly Tap right. Hope this helps

I saw this arcade game only once in an arcade, but I immediately knew it was Pacman despite being an itty bitty child... because if you existed in the 80s, you knew who Pacman was!

an interesting note on the L boost. you dont neccesarily need to eat the purple ghost last, she just needs to be eaten 5th (so the 3200 points ghost eaten). if you for example eat a mini ghost with the power pellet, and then eat all five ghost, the sixth ghost and every ghost eaten after that will be worth 7650 points, which is an easy manouver to pull off in the first round, when the ghost are dropping the mini ghosts from their planes

In one of the worlds of you push the last small cactus pacman becomes see through/invisible. Which is pointless since a little to the right is the door to the fairies which gives you the magic boots and the power up disappears next level. Still cool though
How do you float when you're jumping over the river
tap the direction over and over again. So.... run to the springboard, jump holding the jump button for height, then tap tap tap the direction button until safely across.

The Arcade Archives version of Pacland had just been released in the PS Store
2:25 I can't seem to get the warp to trigger in Pac-Man Museum or Pac-Man Museum Plus. Is there anything I need to be doing that I'm not already doing? Do I need the ghost-proof hat like what you've got here?

I've been intrigued by Pac-Land ever since its inclusion as a stage in Super Smash Bros. back in 2014. Sadly, I only have the NES version of Pac-Land.
Google MAME EMULATOR and take it from there.....

Jump off the springboard and rapidly tap right. It slows Pac-Man's descent.
