Great videos, I have decided to go with non combustable framing. Some Home Depots sell the metal framing. Headers might be a little more tricky but certinly something to consider if you plan on having it inspected along the way. Some suplliers also sell fire trested lumber thats a bit more exspensive thought

My comment is the truck engines has 12 volt DC negative. Do you connect AC power. Do you connect the same a neutral and AC ground to the same ground as the trucks body and motor.
Video has helped me soo much, tx n keep it updo! Do I have to use conduits? Will the cut 2x4 for counter top hold a 65 lb ice shave or should I use the whole 2x4?

Only where you will be cutting or slicing foods, you must have stainless or a cutting surface. The surface must be hard, smooth and washable and non absorbant! The Seamster
While you're in the building process will you need multiple inspections to ensure you're building your truck to code? Will your electrical be needed to be inspected before you insulate and close in with walls? Or what will be inspected as far as electric? I'd hate to run conduit and wires, enclose with walls only to have to rip the walls out because an inspector can't see the conduit.
Jonette N Ok you must check with your county or city. Most states do not require every inspection at every step, but a build floor plan that must get approved and then a final inspection. You must check with your district! All it takes is a phone call or email. The SEAMSTER

If you were to do your interior wood framing so that rigid foam board ( glued to the aluminum wall)was flush with the studs- could you simply adhesive frp directly over the foam board skipping the plywood?
yes you could, but remember the flex might break loose.

Thank You my friend. The weather here in Michigan still gets cold at night 35 degrees in May. We are at the window installing stage and we tried one window and the caulk didn't cure properly and is still soft. So it has to be removed and recaulked. I predict part 3 in a week. Stay tuned :)

SO if I don't have tools to complete this job, it will be cheaper to spend 20K more to have a truck built rather than just buy, rent or borrow the tools? Also great videos. Enjoying so far haha

Great video! How many 2× 4 did you use? And how far a part were the 2×4s?
I bought 16 ft 2x4's and cut them to the length I needed. It will be different per truck. The spacing was about 16 to 18 inches max. The SEAMSTER
Again, did you need to meet any codes or get permits for the electrical? Would you face problems getting this truck licensed for food sales essentially?

How are you protecting against moisture with the r13 insulation? I'm next to the coast and have very high humidity.
If you bury your wires like this. How would anyone ever work on it in the future ? Would it be a ok idea to run it on the outside with the protective conduit?

I dont know why most do that. But I installed these windows to work at carnivals or events. Most will put the serving window on the passenger side to serve people on a sidewalk on a road. Thanks
Alot I already have in my motorhome. But I coukd run a secondary plug for my geni for plugs for the machines and food cart part with its own fuse box and shut off. At some point I'd like to add my solar to the roof and run thru eith that as well. But I think this could work out for me. The back bedroom could be a break room qnd the top cab for storage. Everything is crap in therr anyhow ans I was gona rebuild kitchen replace walls in rv anyhow. Be nice to keep one bench for sitting down when needed to tho. Bathroom I can switch to a nicer hand washing sink n have 3 small ones in kitchen size of my largest pan or bowl. Have my eater system where bathtub is n leave toilet onky upgrade it to a flushing one for workers or myself. This could reqlly work. I've already removed swivel chairs carpet etc on one side, and I need barn door style behind front seats. I may even remove the passenger seat I don't need it. My gradmother did that with abtruck she had like yours. I just don't recall her having a hood so I'm so confused as to when we need those. She had a fryer so she must of we are going back when I wws 10 n I'm 49 now where the laws differnt. They are so expensive can I get one just for a fryer n a grill leave my small rv stove in. I only need it for simple things if that. A flat top is all I need ans I can do alot with that but I need an oven for other foods roasts n such I love to cook

why would you use any wood? no commercially built ones have any wood in them, and wood just cost more. just my opinion. thanks for the video
Not true, wood does not cost more. Also most average people don’t have a aluminum welder or even know how to weld. Stainless steel is very expensive as I explained in video, but if your rich it don’t matter.

It will not pass the fire certification test due to the wooden walls, shelves and insulation inside the walls
Devansh Aggarwal This is per state and remember if your being picky, FRP is not fireproof it will burn. So if your suggesting nothing should be flammable that would be impossible due to paper products used to serve. I have had 2 STFU in the past and both were built with this construction. What is the reason for conduit if you’re using Romex? Also if you spray foam it wouldn’t it not matter?
Remember, when building a commercial Food Truck/Trailer. You must follow government code. Some government codes, you can do anything you want and can serve food out of a wheel barrel. Michigan is one of the toughest states to pass code. Also, this will help in reselling your Food Truck/Trailer. Romex can still be penetrated with a nail or screw or rubbing on metal walls. Conduit will stop wear on Romex from vibration. Even if there is foam spray, foam will break down in a moving Truck/Trailer. Foam is meant to be used in a house, something that will not vibrate or move a lot. Thanks for the Comment :)
@@TheSeamster Speaking of codes I though you couldn't put Romex in conduit because it may be susceptible to heat build-up and is therefore not allowed. It is accepted practice to run only individual THHN conductors (or another approved form of wire) inside the conduit. THHN wires are relatively inexpensive and are much easier to run through conduit.
@@randallgoguen3463 Conduit is always allowed. It is actually overkill in my opinion. But, if this was a house the wires would be attached to wood and not metal. Metal will cause wear in time, how much, don't know. I don't ever want to tear apart these walls due to a wire that I drill into or a screw and it cause breakers to blow. When building, you can never go wrong with conduit. If there is that much heat build up near your wiring, you should plan to reroute so this does not happen. Only time I can imagine that much heat would be near deep fryers. Code do vary but you will find it hard for an electrician to say, Nah, don't put conduit in your moving vehicle.
