I appreciate your video...Did you have any problems with the water from the hand washing sink draining into you grey water tank? The fitting you used is a "Santee" and should only be used vertically in the wall for a sink drain. I'm about to start my version of what you did and I really do appreciate the vids! Thank you
what an informative video! I will definitely be following it to do my plumbing next week. I have a question though; how do you vent the gray water tank? you should do a video on how you clean the tanks when they need sanitation. This follower will truly appreciate it!!
Great question! I have mounted 2 wire drying racks directly above my 3 compartment sink. I will be posting an updated video soon with all other final touches (including the drying racks)
Almost got away with that one lol! Complete mistake on my part, was focusing on shooting the video vs. concentrating on the job at hand. Good call out though
Yes I noticed that too your tee is backwards so when you run the hand sink it’s draining back into the 3 compartment sink and there’s no trap under the hand sink so I’m also confused of these things as well? Thank you for the video I really appreciate all the info though.
Great question - to be honest I’m not sure. I have seen many trucks/trailers in my area that have those countertops. However, personally, I’m not keen on how they look. Even though the stainless steel is more expensive, it certainly gives a more professional and commercial quality to the trailer. But definitely reach out to your local DPBR to confirm!
@@poormansfoodtruck yes thank you, i reached out to them yesterday and it is allowed. I decided to go with stainless steel instead tho. I does look a lot better. Thanks
Is there any regulation in Florida in regards to water heater plumbing? I cant really find anything. I emailed the inspector but she said they have no info on that. Pex is out of my budget, i was thinking of using 1/2 pvc. Any recommendations?
Do you know how to trouble shoot the pump where I accidentally let the clean water go too low that now I filled it and the water won’t come out the sink, but the water pump is in
Sounds like you mate have a bad pump? Whenever there’s no water flow, the pump should cut-out automatically and then restart once the water is available again?
For me personally, I found it fairly easy with the walls in place first. I lay the floor down, and cut the front half first and worked slowly towards the rear of the trailer. Great thing about this floor is it’s super flexible and relatively easy to install
Yes - they do the same thing as the shutter-style (grease gets trapped and travels down the bars into the grease pans below). But honestly I’m thinking about changing mine out to the shutter-style later down the line
For our menu we really don’t need too many large pots/pans as a lot will be done on the flat top. Most of our cleaning will be the food warmer containers and fridge containers. We’ve had a few practice runs and had no issues yet!
@@poormansfoodtruck I’m in duval county. I’m starting a truck as well and it’s hard getting questions answered on most things. I hate to ask but I have a few questions when ever you are available. Thanks bro
Each will be different depending on the height of your 3 compartment sink. Just be sure that you have a decline from left-to-right to ensure proper flow
Will that pump work being mounted above the tank? I have that pump and mine has to be mounted on the floor or it doesnt work. Apparently mine has to be at the lowest point of the water in the tank.
It’ll depend on your county specifically, some will allow you to use one of the compartments as the “hand wash” station also. However to my knowledge this is fairly uncommon!
How did you attach the flange feet? My sink is similar but has a thread at bottom. Also how did you drill your sink for the wall brackets ? Seems not matter what but I use it’s taking forever
Flange feet I have linked in one of the videos (if not I will re-link). For now I am using a large aluminum strap (kinda looks like an exhaust repair strap) that I found at my local auto parts store. Hope this helps!
Better check with your state before you start anything. In my state a master plumber has to draw up the plans, send them in for approval ( in triplicate!) and the master plumber has to do all the work. Then the state plumbing inspector has to pass it.
Love your video's using them to restart building my food truck! it is much smaller only about 8ft is that the standard sink that the dbpr requires can I email you and send you the sinks i have i have three they are just much smaller im located in Florida as well
Excellent! You and Frank B are priceless for new food truckers!
Bro dropping the part number mid sentence is goated haha building my own food trailer rt now so this was helpful thanks love from Canada

Thank you my friend for the video. Can you tell me if the 20/25 water tanks are ok ?
I think you're supposed to put the glue on the outside of the pipe but on the inside of the fitting 9:00 min in
Great catch! I was too busy filming rather that concentrating on what I was doing! But yes you’re absolutely correct
100%
Hello, what drying rack did you use, we are also in Florida God bless in your success.
Great question! I have mounted 2 wire drying racks directly above my 3 compartment sink. I will be posting an updated video soon with all other final touches (including the drying racks)
What kind of material did you used to cover the walls?
Y did u apply the pvc cement on the inside of the pipe? It actually should go on the outside of the male pipe
Almost got away with that one lol! Complete mistake on my part, was focusing on shooting the video vs. concentrating on the job at hand. Good call out though
Great tip! I bought those tanks directly and saved $50 each as well and got free shipping and got them in 3 days! Thanks!
Awesome! Glad I could help!
Could you give me information where you bought your kitchen equipment including the extractor hood?
For sure! My equipment was purchased through Webstaraunt.com and my hood was purchased though Vevor.com
thanks for your help
your blue and red water hoses were they 1/2 ? don't see size in any of the cements
Yes they are all 1/2”
The plug by the sink will have to be a gfci period
Love your videos, but also love trying new foods… are you in central Florida … if so where? Would love to try out your tacos!!!!
Thank you so much! We would love for you to come try us out! We are in central FL (specifically Polk County) between Lakeland and Winter Haven
Did you have to switch the plumbing piping on the hand sink that elbow is flowing in to the 3 compartment sink drain
Im not sure if I follow?
Yes I noticed that too your tee is backwards so when you run the hand sink it’s draining back into the 3 compartment sink and there’s no trap under the hand sink so I’m also confused of these things as well? Thank you for the video I really appreciate all the info though.
Im in ocala florida, just wondering if i can use formica kitchen countertop in a food trailer to make a 4 compartment sink. Thanks

Did you purchase 2 of the water tank installation kit or just one?
Great question - I only needed to purchase one installation kit
Do you know how to trouble shoot the pump where I accidentally let the clean water go too low that now I filled it and the water won’t come out the sink, but the water pump is in
On*
Sounds like you mate have a bad pump? Whenever there’s no water flow, the pump should cut-out automatically and then restart once the water is available again?
what was the white PVC piping under the sink size ?
Great question! Mine is all 1-1/2 PVC piping
copper crimp rings , how many did you go through
Great question! I went through about 1 and a half bags
how did you start the gluing process on your floor . franks video was no help. i'm going to tuck my edges up behind the stainless
For me personally, I found it fairly easy with the walls in place first. I lay the floor down, and cut the front half first and worked slowly towards the rear of the trailer. Great thing about this floor is it’s super flexible and relatively easy to install
Do you not have to have a fire suppression system?
Yes - fire suppression system coming soon!
Is the grill bar, r they considered grease filters
Yes - they do the same thing as the shutter-style (grease gets trapped and travels down the bars into the grease pans below). But honestly I’m thinking about changing mine out to the shutter-style later down the line
What material did you use to cover the wall behind the sink ?
I chose to use white aluminum behind the sink also
Great job! Thank you!
The 3 compartment sink is crazy small, do you have any issues fitting commercial cooking pots, pans, dishes, etc into those tiny 12”x12”? Vats?
For our menu we really don’t need too many large pots/pans as a lot will be done on the flat top. Most of our cleaning will be the food warmer containers and fridge containers. We’ve had a few practice runs and had no issues yet!
No sweep 90 on the first 3 compartment drain and no P-trap required?
For my HD they are not required. Check with your local DPBR before installing!
What part of Florida?
Polk County

how much room do you have from the edge of the door to the front of the trailer ? where your hot water tank is mounted . thanks
Great question! I have right around 20” of space if I’m not mistaken. It’s fairly tight but with the equipment I’ve chosen it works 👍🏻
Also can you tell us why you cut the tailpipe? For space? How much did you cut? What did you use to cut the tailpipe?
I used just a oscillating tool, and it needs to be cut to ensure that you have a downward flow for the drainage
How much did you cut the 6in tailpipe? Every video we’ve watched doesn’t mention how much is needed to cut off of the tailpipe.
Each will be different depending on the height of your 3 compartment sink. Just be sure that you have a decline from left-to-right to ensure proper flow
what size is your trailer. tanks
Ours is a 7’x16’ made by Carry On Cargo
What are the flange feet link is not working
Thank you for letting me know! I will update this asap!
Will that pump work being mounted above the tank? I have that pump and mine has to be mounted on the floor or it doesnt work. Apparently mine has to be at the lowest point of the water in the tank.
Yes sir this pump will work even when elevated above the fresh water tank. I believe it’ll pump a maximum of 3.3 gallons per minute
when you ordered your tanks did you only need 1 kit or 2 as there sold separately?
Only needed the 1 kit to use for both tanks
Thank-you for info ,I ordered my tanks and kit directly from class A and saved 73.00 verses Amazon 👌
Awesome!! Glad I could help save a few bucks! It’s all adds up
Thanks for the video! Just moved to Florida myself and we're going to open a shaved ice business.
That’s awesome welcome to FL! Wishing you the best of luck! Shaved ice should do well in Florida 🙏🏻
@@poormansfoodtruck hi do you know if the water tanks can be mounted on top of eachother
Do you need a grey water tank if you are using a grease trap?
Great question! That will depend on your local health dept and what they are required to check during inspection. What state are you located?
I only have 3 sinks, to be up to code do I have to install another sink,, I have a picture. Located in Texas
It’ll depend on your county specifically, some will allow you to use one of the compartments as the “hand wash” station also. However to my knowledge this is fairly uncommon!
Feel free to send me the pic via Instagram and I’ll be happy to help!
What size is the pvc pipe and what size is the backflow valve. Example 1 1/2 inch or 2 inch
Everything in my setup is 1 1/2 inch (including back flow valve) hope this helps!
How did you attach the flange feet? My sink is similar but has a thread at bottom. Also how did you drill your sink for the wall brackets ? Seems not matter what but I use it’s taking forever
I attached them using stainless metal strapping kit (works quite well!). Keep at it brother you got this!
@@poormansfoodtruck Do you remember what kit you used? And is that foil tape around it? Thanks! Glad to see you up and running!
How hot does your water get? The water pump is rated at 3.3 GPM and the heater is 1.6gpm I can’t get the water hotter than 110F.😢
I am yet to run the hot water in my system (waiting for plumbing inspection) will keep you posted as soon as I do!
Great video! Can you please link the backflow preventer valve from Home Depot? Thank you!!!
Thank you so much for the support! 🙌🏻 Absolutely - Just updated the description!
Great work
how did you fasten your tanks to the trailer?
I used several “L” brackets around the tanks themselves to secure them into place
Can you tell me what size 90 degree 1 1/2 pvc
I have a food truck I want to upgrade my plumbing system can you point me in the correct position please
The flanged feet link won’t work. What feet are those?
Sorry about that! Will try to update description!
Still doesn’t work
@rhondasmith2125 just re-uploaded hopefully it’ll work now
Is there anyway you can share the blue print for this setup??
I’ll see what I can do! Shoot me a DM via the IG page
Did you ever figure out how to secure the front legs of the feet to the flange feet?
And also which flange feet did you buy?

@@poormansfoodtruck wat sink did you get
It looks to me like you have plenty of room for a sink with at least one drain board and a hand wash sink…
Once we installed our fire-suppression to the left of our sink, there is very little space on the other side unfortunately
$400 are you insane 😳
Possibly! Best price that I could find for the dimensions that I needed though!
Can get brand new for £200 another question your accent are you English originally?
Steer clear from Amazon or any middleman company
Put an outdoor socket next to water matey
Difference between US vs UK unfortunately. This is by far the best prices I could find, UK must be doing better than over here lol!
