On the Rodriguez substitution, Lopetegui said after the game the substitution was tactical, nothing to do with how Rodriguez was playing (maybe he felt he had to say the last bit), but as Paul Parker said on the Radio London commentary, if coach makes a substitution that early and the player isn't obviously injured then that's the coach admitting he got his lineup wrong - this seems to be developing into a consistent theme with Lopetegue as does the "incredible naievety". His substitutions yesterday had the look of someone throwing shit at the wall to see if some of it sticks. It's going to need to start sticking soon. On yesterday's performance I don't think he's got 15 to 20 games and we can't afford to give him that long, by that point we'd be relying on none of the promoted teams having pulled it together, or Man City getting a 50 (okay, 60) point deduction to keep us out of the relegation places. For me he's got another 5 games inc the Liverpool one. Still better than having Moyes in charge though obv.
We were so bad yesterday I didn't even realise we was playing a back 3...I would rather wambasaka in the back 3 over alverez cause at least he can get back an cover for last dirch tackles.....this all down to tactics...the players don't know what there job is...but one thing I refuse to accept is when see players jogging back like it's a training session...I'm fuming.....well done guys...great review and break down.....oh yeah can we not see bowen up front again...playing with tour back to goal for 90 minutes is a whole different ball game to playing right wing with only 1 player to go past.....coyi
Personally think AWB should tuck in and create a back 3 alongside bringing in Todibo and we can then stop the defensive transitions. This would allow Emerson wide right. Alvarez and Soucek should be the pivot. With Kudus CAM. Summerville can also play in the half spaces, Bowen holding width on the right + Fullkrug or Ings up front
For me, the biggest shock was Summerville being hooked fairly early in the second half. Not only did this deprive us of our second-best player on the day, but it forced Kudus, our best player, to play the rest of the game in his worst position.
Another great show and goal analysis. I liked how you didn’t harp on the penalty- there were and are bigger issues . I don’t think you mentioned the ridiculous move to bring Summerville off - him and Kudus the only players that looked lively and dangerous
On the plus side some myths busted: 1) We dont need a fourth CB because Alvarez is decent CB backup - NOPE. 2) Bowen can play as a lone striker - NOPE 3) Paqueta should play the number 8 role - NOPE. Hopefully at least the people that keep going on about this stuff will shut up now. Also: Sloths pronunciation of "Kooodoooos" is giving me the right hump. Yes I realise this is irrational.
Critical points for me: - It's time for a siege mentality for J-Lo and the fans. - Every team suffers transition problems. The irons are no different, but some fans are very impatient - J-Lo needs to pick the best 11 & stick to them, with everyone knowing their respective roles & enforcing discipline in player roles. - So subs, when made, improve the team by knowing the role & tactical change required for them - The whole team attacking is unrealistic - J-Lo's coaches must grapple with defending in numbers as a bloc. - The defenders should sit in and defend with Alvarez or Rodri as the sweeper in front of them. - Emmy & AWB should be back defending once the ball-carrying breaks down. - The CBs should not be overrun. - Soler and Paqman are responsible for box transition. - Kudus in the middle links with Soler / Paqman to feed Summerville or Bowen or the CF - Bowen needs to ensure role discipline on the pitch.
Chelsea fan here, good observations lads without silly comments .. actually going forward you were decent yesterday, I think you need to give the manager a little bit of time , we were very similar the beginning of last season, our main players are going forward and they've been settled ( despite the management change ) for a good year now, we're still not sorted at the back so these things take time , judge your manager after Xmas and next season.
Not sure we can give him up to 20 games with no improvement? We need to see an upward trajectory soon, currently we seem to be getting worse each game. Every team we have played thus far were the better team. Even the ones we beat looked better than us. Also I’m not sure about his man management now, Summerville reward for being our best player yesterday was being subbed, Ings’ reward for a last gasp equaliser is not to be used at all despite us needing goals.
I don’t think we can judge a manager from 5 games. It’s not fair. He deserves time, but that doesn’t mean he’s going to escape criticism (as it’s also deserved!)
Great show lads - well broken down, Frankie was like most of us frustrated from the simple mistakes we were making and the woeful tactics we had, thx Sloth for keeping calm and not losing your head
When I heard that we had hired Loppy to replace Moyes! My first thought was why on earth have employed the guy we had beaten Two seasons ago in the Europa League? How is this considered progress? Is this a case of the blind leading the visually challenged?
I think mav is abit thick. He goes out the front gate of the training ground and has to sign the signatures while the others go out the back. He needs one to one coaching after the teams gone home. Special needs.
Great show, great game analysis
Thank you Robert ⚒️

By far the best summation of the Chelsea debacle by any West Ham channel. Well done guys, keep up the good work
Thank you Anthony, your support is much appreciated ⚒️

Me neither so shocking, what was the point?
Top show
Thank you, frustrating game!

Yep, that was a strange decision. Agree that it negated the Kudus threat too
Love your analysis guys your show becoming one of my favs
Thanks a lot! Really appreciate it ⚒️

Thanks Tim, appreciate the feedback from an opposition supporter!
Honeymoon is over for Lopetegui. Needs to show signs of improvement very quickly.
Definitely needs to show less naivety with the selection/approach’
West ham needs to know there level bottom half team you will be fighting relegation real soon 🫡
@@Foorless26 floorless the west Ham Prophet of doom?

JLO is seriously worrying me !
He seems inept..
Subs were like a pre season trial ...
Anyone in for anyone no joined up thinking..
Cheers lads

Thanks Waseem, appreciate it! Difficult not to get frustrated when the passion comes out doing these reviews 🤣

The team mostly played like it was friday afternoon at the building site 😕
Utter madness, with no sweeper keeper, playing a high line and from the back !
Man said chelsea have 50 players on their team 😂😂 YOU KNOW NOTTHING JON SWON 😂😂
😂😂😂
I am just being bitchy because we lost 😂 - Sloth
Unfortunately Paqueta gets criticism for getting bookings by our own fans because he does give away fouls to slow up the opposition.
By league game 10, if there is no progress. Sully need to sack and let Tim Steidten pick a viable replacement.
