As a church I hope we also never forget the loving people of Quincy, Illinois, who took in thousands of the fleeing saints that winter into their own homes as a refuge before many of the saints could regroup and move west later. Their kindness and unselfishness were some of the most incredible acts of Christlike love ever given our ancestors. ❤❤❤
I'm so grateful for the sacrifices made by the early saints. Their contributions which in many cases costed their lives will continue to be a blessing in the lives of all saints forever❤❤❤
Feb 7th in 1846, the Jews around the world commemorates the Israelites crossing the sea on dry ground. This day they sang the Song of the Sea. With the wise Mississippi River being frozen and the ferries that went from side to side, the Pioneers crossed over on dry shod. This exodus from Little Egypt (as Illinois is known to be) represents the modern day Israel fulfilling the prophecies in Isaiah. For they came to modern Sinai in the tops of the Rockies.
