    I owned a 13 ATS 3.6 premium a few years ago, my first Cadillac it was surprisingly a very reliable car. The CT5 has been on my radar for a while. I think I will go for it since Lexus killed the GS.

      Most people don't look at Toyota Lexus cars. They see them all the time. A CT5 gets people's attention & you don't see yourself coming & going multiple times per day.. Take it from a guy who's been driving a V-Series for a year. It's appealing, athletic & lovely.

    They need an interior upgrade to the AWFUL XT6. The exterior could be better as well. They need a baby version of the Escalade. Do what Lincoln is doing with the Navigator.

    The V non Blackwing is a nice sweet spot. Sounds good and is plenty fast enough. I am getting a bit older, but would still prefer a luxury sedan like this vs a CUV. I do wish Caddy would do a mild hybrid system similar to BMW and Mercedes for a bit more added torque and improved fuel economy.

    It's funny that Cadillac is now adopting the front-end design for this car from their flagship CT6 that they discontinued years ago. Looks good though. Interior doesn't appear to be any different aside from adding the big screen.

    I actually love it! For a change Cadillac has finally given some good visual ques that bring cohesion to the entire lineup while giving tasteful nods to previous generations! I still would opt for the Lex 500 but that opinion is so visually loosened by the new look that I could potentially be swayed to the ct5.

    Its nice that they've finally updated the interior to accommodate the Escalade's screen. But I wish they would implement metal buttons for the row of buttons underneath the screen.
    They should also replace the 2.0t with the 2.7t. 237 hp may seem quite a bit. But that thing is seconds slower than its intended competitors. The discontinued 2.0t Malibu is quicker than this thing by almost a second. The BMW 330i is about 1.5 secs quicker. It only has 20 odd more hp. Granted that also BMW hp so in reality its closer to 280 maybe 290 hp.

      No, when the CT5's 2.0t is barely able to outpace a 2007 Malibu SS. The power needs to be increased. Hell it has less power than the 2007 Malibu. These cars are for the ego. It would be ego shattering to pull up to a stoplight and have a 16 year old car keeping up with you. But if they apply the E-Ray's hybrid tech to the 2.0t. We could see an improvement to both the 0 to 60 and fuel economy best of both worlds.

      I agree, most of the buttons & switches throughout the interior are still plastic, same with other models like the Escalade. Metal buttons & switches would nice to see, or even a piano black finish. Basically anything looks more upscale than plain matte black plastic... The buttons & switches in the upcoming Caddilac EV's look a whole lot nicer than what's in the current gas versions.

    That facia update isn't great. The split lights on the current model balanced out the visual height that the floating bumper caused. The new design adds to it and makes it look bulky and disjointed. I understand that the Lyriq now leads their design language, but this isn't a good execution. Still, it's great that Caddy builds two RWD sport/executive sedans.

    Review AFTER 2 YEARS OF OWNERSHIP!
    I purchased my 2022 CT5 in August 2022. Saying that my experience owning this vehicle has been a nightmare is an understatement. Here are the list of major repairs/replacements I’ve had within 2 years of owning; Engine Head Gasket, Transmission Transfer Case, entire Transmission assembly, front Seat lumbar units, steering wheel boot, interior door trim panels, O2 Sensors, and so on. All of this has been replaced within less than 2 years of owning this vehicle. I had decided to purchase my first ever car from Cadillac as the brand stood for luxury and reliability. I put my hard earned money, and that too quiet a lot of it, towards this car. If I had known what I was in for, I would’ve went for Cadillac’s competition. It’s a shame because the CT5 is a very good looking vehicle and it drives nice. However the amount of Repairs and unreliability overshadows the whole experience. Looks can be deceiving! If you’re in the market for a new luxury vehicle, I’d take a one good look at this vehicle, admire its good looks, maybe even sit in it or take some photos and then proceed to purchase a German or a Japanese competitor brand!

      This refresh was originally meant for the 2024 MY, but was delayed. So it's getting an early-ish reveal and launch as a 2025.

    Its fun how cadillac is getting so good and somehow audi and bmw are becoming so ugly and cheap feeling on the interiors.

    That new front end looks dumb. The existing one has an aggressive look to it, with the headlighs looking like Iron Man's eyes, which is badass. They've ruined it by making it look like an outdated 2016 CT6. Why would I want to buy a 2016-looking car in 2025? Way to totally screw up a good looking design, and make it look like a boring grandpa-mobile, Cadillac!

    Everything is going to break 60,000 miles in. I’m speaking from personal experience. Rear end differential issues, defective transmissions, ac compressor failure. GM builds these sedans to last no more than 4 or 5 years at best. Do your homework on them before you buy something like this. These cars do not last.

    I can't believe Cadillac is sticking with this idiotic trim level naming convention. It's meaningless nonsense.

    Still a very dull interior. Slapping a giant tasteless screen inside doesn't mean much in terms of staying competitive. Especially considering what the competition is doing with their interiors like the New E-class. And what's up with the cheap looking plastic buttons

    • @dallasfrost1996
      @dallasfrost1996 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, the matte black plastic buttons needs to go. Same in other models like the Escalade. Metal buttons would be great, even piano black would look a lot nicer. I've noticed that all the Caddilac EV's have much nicer looking buttons than the current gas models.

    • @baroneleve1196
      @baroneleve1196 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@dallasfrost1996Not just the buttons need to go. The dash areas of all Cadillacs except the Escalade and the EVS need a total makeover. There is nothing appealing about them. They look uninspiring, cheap and overall lacking that wow factor needed in today's market.

    Good overview, Sofyan. Like the styling and interior design of this new Cadillac. Now if Lincoln would only make the Chinese market Zephyr available in the United States, that would be awesome..... but Lincoln as a brand is on life support

    Wow! This is a great looking car! The red paint and brown leather are gorgeous. The minimal use of black plastic cladding is refreshing in our sea of SUVs.
