Didn't check the nearly 500 comments posted so far but I'm guessing Mr. Deyo was influenced by the great Bob Newhart. His style and material remind me of Newhart. Very intelligent, clean, often subtle, and self-deprecating. A comedy style not seen very often in 2021. As one comment stated, Tony Deyo would make a great talk show host. If that's something he's interested in, then I hope it comes his way. I'd tune in!
If he was hosting an awards show, I would tune in just for his opening monolog. Then turn it off because award shows themselves are awful & boring. And awfully boring.

His calm and laid back delivery are great, he could even be effortlessly hosting a show. Enjoyed it VERY much and cracked like a cookie with the last part.
Yeah, It's real easy to make fun of someone who endures something that most of us could never even come close to getting through. The disrespect put forth in this video, and in particular, in the comment section turns my stomach. I'm retired Navy, 1974-1995. I'm a father of three, and yes, it was hard sometimes, And I'm not trying to take anything away from that. But, as hard as parenthood is, it pales in comparison to earning the right to be a special forces member. It briefly crossed my mind to try out because they pushed it during Bootcamp. But then they showed us the recruitment videos detailing what was required to become a Seal, And I don't mean the watered down videos shown to the general public, These were the real deal. At that point I didn't even try to be a Seal, because I knew what was required to graduate from such an exclusive community. And although I grew up on a farm and was much tougher than the majority of my fellow recruits, (I thought Bootcamp was a breeze). I knew I probably didn't have the stuff that it takes to be a Navy Seal. Physically, I probably would have been able to do it, But the mindset to go through what they had to, in order to achieve success was another thing altogether. You have to be a special type of person to have that sort of determination, That "never quit" attitude, no matter how hard it gets. You have to "want it" more than most people can imagine. That's a whole different story. It's something that most of us don't have inside of us. So, to sit in your comfortable chairs, in your air-conditioned rooms, enjoying the freedoms you did nothing to earn, yet you still have, Freedoms won by men and women better than you. And sit there and make snide remarks about something you know absolutely nothing about, sickens me. Everyone who comments here who has anything other than admiration for these people, Should be ASHAMED.
bob d This is a COMEDY act! It’s a JOKE. Joke are not real statements, and I’m convinced he doesn’t actually believe that. We all truly thank you for your service, but this is the context in which to write a paragraph about it. No one ever actually believes parenthood is harder than being a SEAL. It’s just a joke, and makes for a catchy title, which is what TH-cam is all about. Have a nice day.

It takes a certain level of creative intelligence and quick wit to have a sense of humor. Even the audience has to match a certain level of intelligence of the comedian to get the jokes. It’s why kids are given dumb, potty jokes in movies. Although a lot of not-so-smart adults laugh at those dumbed-down potty jokes too. Smh. Hey Tony! Just saw this act with my wife and kids. Was looking for clean humor and this popped up. You are hilarious! Love your sarcastic humor. Love it! Different type of humor than Tim Hawkins which is my favorite. Hope I can catch you in a show here. I'm in NYC also. 👏👏👏👏
Thanks for the laughs.
