I live in a senior community. You would not believe the amount of furniture thrown out. A person could drive around on trash day and furnish a small apartment. I have a small home but I have picked up some small pieces and painted them. So glad you are rescuing discarded furniture
Not everyone can carry out furniture from the apts. Hopefully some items get picked up by a local agency that gives back locally like Salvation Army, Jarrett Centers, Habitat for Humanity is a great place to call as they'll come to pick up donated furniture & misc stuff. - fun to see old stuff transformed:*)
OMG I love your ability to see things, reimagine and bring them to life again. I always am excited to see you have a new trash to treasure. Keep inspiring us please!!!
People have jobs where they are hardly ever recognized, praised, thanked or shown appreciation. I like that with your channel you get to see the reviews showing how much everyone loves your projects. Awesome job. Love it!
I wonder if the people who throw this stuff away every watch your videos and think dang..I wish I didn't throw that away! Everything turned out super cute!!
@ CoffeeW/GOD, Lol, my mom does this, gives me what she thinks is ugly and I re-do it, then when she sees it she says, " I wish I hadn't given you that" it was so ugly now it's beautify,... lol... I win!
My husband said that some of it is probably from rentals where landlords have to deal with things left by evicted tenants. Living in an apartment complex, I do see a lot of nice things in our dumpsters and it's probably from evicted renters. We got a really nice lampshade from the dumpster and updated one of our ugly lamps with it. :)
I love the coffee table, and the bird house. I have just found you on TH-cam and oh how happy you make me with all of the things you are salvaging. Thank you so much!!! God Bless!!
Completely agree with everyone commenting here, if I ever buy a home. I would know exactly where to get furniture: temporary student rentals dumps at the north. Most of furniture, lamps, mirrors, etc. is in perfect condition and the landlords do throw them away. Thank you Elysia for inspiring us with your fantastic ideas.
I really have fallen, no pun intended lol, with buffalo plaid decor and fabric!! Your coffee table is beautiful! I like to see rescued items upcycled giving them new life instead of filling up our landfill mountains. I have been "curb shopping" for many years and when I met my husband of 17 yrs, he had a F350 extended cab truck. As a newly dating couple I asked him to help me pick up an old oak kitchen table and he admitted later he thought I was kinda weird. We still laugh about it to this day. He had never met anyone who saw the value in upcycling discard items. Over the years he has received many phone calls from me at someone's curb, requesting his truck and assistance to haul something home!! This has given us many laughs and stories too! Wish we had a dump in our area to pick from. Thanks so much for helping me think "outside the box" !!!
Yes, I'm binge watching too. I just retired and I'm getting so many ideas, now that I have the time to concentrate on my home and gifts for friends and family. Such a joy!
You never cease to amaze me with the transformation from trash to very useful and pretty items. You are so genuine and I never tire from watching your videos. I think the presentation after you complete the transformation is what keeps me watching. Thanks for all the ideas!
Love your imagination! It's amazing that you know what pieces to pick from the dump and then decide how you'll transform them. I think I would feel overwhelmed and just leave them! So glad you make these videos. It gets the create juices flowing! 😀
I always put things on the side of the road and post it online before throwing it out in hopes someone will take the perfectly good items. Thank you for posting all your awesome creations
You are really doing a great job in rescuing things from the landfill. The Buffalo plaid coffee table is gorgeous, you have a great talent for creating just the right finish on items you refinish.
My mom went to our dump burn pile and found an Antique Hoosier Cabinet!!! Enamel top and all. She was almost in disgust how someone could throw it out. Went back the next day and found the flour mill for the inside and there was a lady there who said to my mother “oh I threw out the rest of that yesterday.” My mother said “I know it’s in my kitchen as we speak” and left ! Love your videos, love from northern Ontario!!
Can't get enough!!! LOVE everything you create and how you save castaway peices. You are spreading a good message and saving the world one piece at a time. 😇
Omg, they are all my favorites can't pick just one this time. I now have confidence to try the buffalo check on a larger surface now. I also appreciate the tips, like distressing where it would naturally happen. And the fact that the burn pile is your favorite part of the dump, IS AWESOME, that you save a diamond in the rough at the last minute. Thanks for sharing with all of us!
I have to use this Buffalo plaid design on a table top. It gives the piece so much character. I usually shy away from working with what I consider “chunkier” pieces, but this treatment is a great way to bring them together with other pieces.
Your ideas for re-purposing items are so awesome! You always think out of the box. After each video I always say, this is my favorite! LOL Thank you Elysia!
Oh, mylanta!!! What a transformation- from the dumped excess to treasured restoration-. PS. I appreciate how well you enunciate , & how quickly you get to the point🤓. One of my faves. Best regards, Elizabeth
I wish more people do what we do and stop sending things to the landfill's. You do amazing work. I just became a subscriber And look forward to seeing more of your creations!
I just found your channel just now. I am totally amazed at what we can do with our old pieces of furniture. I love your channel. Thanks for sharing these videos with us. I am here to stay. Have a lovely day.🍂🍁🧡🙋🏻♀️🌹

You are truly blessed. I am so happy you are doing everything you want to in life. Keep the ambition going for all the things you want to accomplish. Remember, with God, all things are possible.
I do lettering as a profession. When I see you incorporate type into your pieces I get super excited lol. I love the words you chose for the frame. And I love how the table turned out. I really can’t believe people throw away such good stuff!
Love the heavy old tv stand up cycle. I’d add industrial castors to make it more mobile. It could also be an awesome kitchen island atop some substantial legs and shelves. Elysia you are blowing my mind with inspiration. I never thought there could be a use for these old stands in the age of flat screen wall mounted tv’s
That coffee table is absolutely beautiful , the buffalo plaid really made the design pop . 💜 definitely going to have to add that design to some of my projects.
This vignette rivals the ones I thought I loved. Lol. Girl you have me over looking at my turquoise plywood chest I use as a coffee table and storage for the grandkids toys. It will be getting a wider buffalo check makeover next week. Woohoo
I love it all!!! At first I wasn't sure about the buffalo on the coffee table...but I am pleasantly surprised at how great it looks❤️❤️❤️ LOVE the shiplap frame makeover❤️❤️❤️Keep us posted on the birdhouse becoming a new home!! Awesome video - THANKS for sharing!
Cannot believe how much people throw out into the garbage. Every city should have a area where people can go and donate their unwanted furniture, where people who need furniture can go and get it for free. People who are living on a very tight budget would appreciate getting furniture for free. Wow, I love the coffee table. Just went to your tutorials site, there goes my Sunday, binge watching all your tutorials 😁😁😁

I can believe you. I'm neighbour of a resident for elder people, and it's a gold mine, with good quality
