Hey Brother, what a great time when you can get out with old friends and enjoy the outdoors. Thanks for sharing your experience with your buddy Joe. By the way, I am in! Are you kidding me, I would absolutely love to win that flashlight. I am in!!!
I'm in for that flashlight ! Joe, these videos keep me sane in between my trips to the North Shore of MN. I can only get out 3 or 4 times a year lately. Your techniques always keep give me something new to try when I go up. Thank you for making these videos keep it up man!
You've inspired me to go out in the woods and bushcraft myself. Fun fact, my name is also Joey. I brought a friend, bought a cheap axe (Walmart quality) it's a mcgyver handaxe. I made a fire out of wet wood and I built a small shelter. we stayed there overnight. I really just wanted to thank you cause you thaught me everything I know of bushcraft. My shelter withstood rain, hail, and snow. I cut the wood in half, cut my first tree ( didn't cut a live one cause I wasn't in a survival situation )and some trees I could just push over like you taught me.We had some coffee, food, sat and just talked. I made a fire reflector which is inspired from your construction techniques. Thanks Joe. You're awesome man.
Love your videos I'm 60 years of age and miss this stuff grow up in Maniwaki Quebec fought forest fires as a teen camp hunted and all that miss the bush
Then you should try this one: Omnipollo Nebuchadnezzar Imperial IPA. I'm not a big fan of Imperial IPA, but this one is a true gem! Since it's a Swedish beer i don't know if you have this in Canada (or whatever you're from) . But it shouldn't be that hard to get your hands on. Here's a good site if you have a passion for beer: www.ratebeer.com
man ive heard that hipsters are fucking up beer haha. Everyone keeps pushing the hoppiness of their craft brews and its fucking up everyones palates so that unless its hopped out to the max its just water to all these hipsters haha
I have watched tons of fire steel technique videos... and i practice a lot. But igniting feathers is still not a strong area for me. Either my base moves around, the surface of my firesteel is all chewed up making it hard, or i bash my knuckles on the base. Gonna really focus on that skill next. GOTTA be able to make fire with just a steel and a blade. Nice video bro.
+ScrambledO You use the small ferro rods (e.g. Light My Fire) or the larger one (e.g. firesteel.com)? I find the technique is different for each. Joe's the man for the larger rods but that doesn't work for me on the smaller ones and I run into the problems you describe unless I use a different approach, which I learned from a Paul Kirtley video
+ScrambledO Just subbed ya man. I have an idea that might help with the problem you're having. I'll probably do a video about it for anybody else that has this problem and I'll send you a link. It might be a while since the weather here lately is cold icy obnoxiousness lol
I'm in! Just scheduled a camping trip with 4 of my buddies for January, I'm super stoked and looking forward to it. That flashlight definitely wouldn't hurt!
Great video as always Joe, always good chilling out with old friends round a good campfire, chatting away, happy days, cheers from across the pond ,craig
what's super-stinky is no friends and no family want to go camping. that's stinky as all can be. they just wanna sit in their houses and do nothing. that's what I deal with.
Urgh Ik how you feel, I'm a 3 hour drive away from the new forest (uk) but none of my family or friends ever want to go PROPERLY camping. If anything they wanna lounge in an XL tent all day -.-
That light is impressive! (I'm in). Love the videos joe. Keep them coming. Nothing beats camping trips with close buddies, or even better, yourself and your K9.
Cool video, it's great just to go out in the woods and have a great time. The idea to put the Babybell into the eggs is awsome, I think i have to try that next time.
