    Yay! Thank you once again for another beautiful video. I saw a few knit city you tube videos and saw your yarn displayed at the show. It was exciting. This is the beginning of a relaxing weekend starting with your video. 😄😄😄

    All those beautiful colors! I really enjoyed knitting with your yarn over the summer, in the YAL2022 Mautinoa design 😊

      That's a beautiful pattern. I will be doing a video on dyeing those colours soon.

      @@EssenceofAutumnYarn I’ve been knitting for over 50 years, and Mautinoa challenged me to learn new stitch techniques. In the past 5 years I’ve developed a taste for brioche, too. I blame Nancy Marchant and Stephen West. 😂

    As always, your yarn is beautiful. I use a little cordless hand drill and some larger hooks that I bought from Amazon to twist my skeins (cost me about $40 total). Works wonderfully. Can't really drop the money for the actual skein twister at this time.

      That's a great idea. We all have to save money where we can.

    My skein twister is my favorite thing, besides my spin dryer.

      Yes the spin dryer is very useful.

      Shoutout to the unsung hero of the studio, the Spin Dryer! I’m so glad I bought mine early on. I’m still using a bike hook in a black and decker drill for my twisting but small improvements!!!! 💚💚💚💚

    I love your videos! I have a few questions for you: 1. Do you dye up one base each day? Like on one day do fingering weight, the next day is DK, and so on? 2. How did you come to sell at LYS? Did you seek them out or did they seek you out? I think it would be my dream to be supplying yarn for a few LYS's as well as my own online shop. Just trying to figure out how to get noticed more and expand. This is something I would love to turn into a full time income! Thank you for another beautiful and relaxing video!

    • @EssenceofAutumnYarn
      @EssenceofAutumnYarn  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Getting noticed is the hardest part and it's still an ongoing struggle for me. Basically I dye what I need to. If an order has a mix of different bases and I can dye them all at once I will. I never set out to sell my yarn to yarn stores, they approached me. My preference would be to sell exclusively from my website so I don't actively promote the wholesale side of my business.

    I love your videos so much. I appreciate your videos so much. I've been wanting to dye yarn since I discovered hand dyed yarn. There are some tutorials for it but you are one of the best channels to go to to learn from and just to watch for fun. Nobody else has a tutorial playlist dedicated to teaching everything needed to know on how to hand dye yarn. You truly inspire me and one day I hope to have my own little studio like you do. Thank you so much for making all your videos. I wish I had better words to describe the love and appreciation I have for you.

    Interesting that you wash your wool after dyeing and the colors aren’t running out of the skeins. So many times I’ve purchased indie dyed yarns only to have them bleed a lot of the deeper colors after I’ve knit with them. Is there something I could do before knitting to ensure the integrity of the colors?

    • @katpraeuner9794
      @katpraeuner9794 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, you can wash the yarn prior to use and if you see bleeding you can soak them with a couple tablespoons of vinegar or synthrapole. I've watched a ton of you tubers who do this with deep colors like red or purple or black, but if you are worried I definitely would prewash. There is also a product out there that prevents bleeding when you wash the finished item - color catcher.
