    Weight loss is also a common effect of chronic arsenic poisoning, but Napoleon gained substantial weight during his first 5 years on the island (when he was purportedly being poisoned with arsenic). The rapid weight loss that occurred in his last year was very likely caused by his growing gastric carcinoma.

    Good video. There is a very underrated, excellently detailed and ongoing documentary series about Napoleon Bonaparte at the moment by a small channel called ‘Rewriting History’, that is exploring Napoleon’s childhood, early career, crowning as Emperor, exile and death. I would highly recommend that everyone watch the first episode at the very least.

      @jellapena-ue1ze 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Well, you could say he was both. He was born right after France bought Corsica, technically making him French. It just depends on if you see the purchase as legitimate or not. Napoleon who sided with the Corsican people in his childhood, did not. I would guess he associated himself more with the French as he gained power within France though.

I believe they used 29,000 Russian troops as the armies on both sides. No CGI! The battle reenactments are incredible. Christopher Plummer plays the Duke of Wellington and Rod Steiger plays Napoleon.
