Ericeira is a small coastal town in the north of Lisbon Portugal (45 km) at the Atlantic Ocean. The town is part of the municipality of Mafra. Ericeira is traditionally a retreat for wealthy Lisbon families. Nowadays Ericeira is urbanized with beautiful hotels for tourism. Ericeira is the considered the surfing capital of Europe with more than 40 beaches with good surfing conditions. Ericeira is the only European location in the World Surfing Reserves. Ericeira has 11,000 permanent citizens.
