      So strange that I saw this, I did the exact same thing. I watched this film every single day one summer because I wanted to catch every element of it. The first film I truly considered one of my favorites. It serves as inspiration for many of my short films.

    The intimate ambient sound design of this movie is hugely satisfying. I wish there were more films that had that much attention to it. There are a lot of surprisingly quiet movies that don’t utilize their sound in all that empty audio space.

  • @Hot18Shot
    @Hot18Shot 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    It really stumped me when they killed off the 'main character' in a scene not shown in the movie. But it was kinda the point; people are killed brutally every day, and some you might even had known beforehand. So you kinda get that vicarious feeling in a way; "Is that really it? Is that how they go? With no goodbye or last words?" It's kinda brilliant really.

    Even though it might not be my favorite Coen Brothers film (True Grit is) - it's still a great film. The reason I love this film is that they proved they can make a great movie without their usual quirky humor they like to add to their films. They proved how versatile they are with this.

    I was never of the mind that Chigurh was the villain, or even _a_ villain. In the context of movie villainy, like Hannibal Lecter, sure. But to me, Anton Chigurh is the embodiment of Evil, just as Ed Tom Bell is the embodiment of Good. And Llewelyn Moss is Man.
