GPU doesn't matter much, as entity limit pushes more strain on CPU. Basically as GPU renders down to 0.25 FPS, it doesn't struggle at all. CPU on other hand does. But i am still impressed how well PoE engine handled this...
Yesterday opening Blight chests I came to the realization that Empy's vids create the same expectations for PoE that porn creates on romantic matters, Empy has warped my sense of loot and crafting!!!

Since you're filling up the platform, and that kinda caps you, shouldn't you attempt to make your character smaller (character size), so you got more "room" for clones? Just a thought..
Now i see the true purpose of micro transactions. It's rather cold in New Zealand these days and they've just opened the server room next to the dev one to cut some heating expenses. I bet it blows like a jet engine.
as you can see in the performance statistic this is pretty much just stressing your cpu so lowering the resolution wouldnt even do anything about the performance
Why not use the Blink Arrow - Mirror Arrow crucible node? Also PoE players: We want Paint. Empy: We have Paint at PoE. Paint at PoE: Also 2 (Sorry this vid has so much memeing potential) Empy starts casting. Every player in the server: This little maneuver is gonna cost us all our FPS.
No wonder servers were slow lately. Be interesting to see if you give these clones poison support some multi proj and attack group of targets. Thas should be enough to kill server instance (if it does not have resource cap per instance).

Did you consider crucible passive for blink and mirror arrow?
You can put yourself on low life, have minion instability allocated and they would be exploding themselves, allowing you to nuke mobs

One of the new supporter packs, the hellfire support has some really gpu-heavy mtx, character effect and wings possibly.
