This is one of my favorite Oliver Stark interview. He's so introspective and intelligent and is never shy to be vulnerable at times. I love him so much.

As a small town, community actor who wants to be a professional actor, he really touched on a lot of my own insecurities and made me feel so much better as an actor. Helped me open my eyes and gave me new ways to perceive myself in my talent. So articulate and introspective. Thank you for sharing, Oliver! ❤

Also LOVED the point of wanting to speak up on white privilege, but not wanting to speak over black voices.

    His voice is so soothing.
I'm really glad he touched on the impossible body standards put on men by media in the last 15 or so years. And how rarely it's spoken about how fleeting that look is and how unhealthy it is to achieve it.
I liked also the point being made at the end about which British actors are the ones criticized for taking roles of Americans.
It would be interesting to maybe get the other side of that particular coin, how the Brits perceive US actors being in British productions playing British characters, eg Renee Zellweger or Kristen Stewart.
    Thank you for this.

I get the feeling that he was somewhat feeling guilty about being Brit(white male). Nobody should feel guilty about who they are or what they look like, but in his case, it was like ''Hey, it's admirable that you feel that way'' which shouldn't be the case.
Oliver definitely gave me the motivation to not entirely rely on my inner critic and just go out in the world and try things anyway.

I think you've honestly slightly misunderstood. It's not about feeling guilty it's about acknowledging the reality of the world you live in and making active steps to make it a better one. It doesn't negate your pain but it isn't the cause of it. I think it was more 'it's admirable than you acknowledge the complexity of how you feel and talk about it openly and vulnerably' rather than - it's good you feel guilty.
