- This is a live presentation by Leo Binkowski for VCF Southwest on Friday June 14 4:30pm CDT (5:30pm EDT)
Way back in the '80s, a plucky Canadian Startup built a broadband network delivering software by cable - The NABU Network.

Leo and DJ are the leaders of the Canadian Cult of the Nabu. You guys breathed life back into this incredible machine. I was lucky enough to get two and have enjoyed the Nabu Network.
Thanks for making this Leo, a great story of the history of NABU, always appreciate your hard work putting all this together. A slight audio drop out there for a bit, but all good. Keep them coming.
So glad that you got to present at VCFSW!!
Great job Leo You & DJ have done so much for the NABU
Thank you so much!
@@leo.binkowski your very welcome my friend
Great stream Leo
history! thanks for everything, leo. :-D
You're welcome. I hope to provide more!
I have really enjoyed all the NABU stuff I have seen, Between you and DJ it's been really fun.
Hey @fallwitch, thanks a lot. I'm glad people are having fun with it. That's what its all about.
Luv it. What an amazing history.
Thanks! I'm planning on detailing some more history soon!
The Nabu was amazing and it's fantastic to be able to experience it in the modern age. The MAME Nabu emulator is really awesome and I enjoy exploring the Nabu system. The LOGO is a nice implementation, similar to the various TMS9918 Logos (like MSXLogo, Coleco Adam Smartlogo and TI 99/4A Logo). Logo and the TMS9918 were a nice pairing because the TMS9918 had 32 sprites. I took the online NABU Logo reference and made a PDF reference manual and put it on archive.
That Logo was made by MIT themselves. We sent them a NABU 1100 for testing, and they sent back a working binary!
Hi Leo, I dropped off when the audio problems happened and then watched it last night. It would be cool to see a video of that MSX machine if you get it going again
Thanks John! The audio dropped on the recording as well. I'll be re-editing it to get the missing sections in. The MSX was working an hour before I started the livestream, so it shouldn't be too difficult an issue to trace
