elbaf is (most likely) the next arc and usopp is gonna pop off. elbaf is one of the most anticipated ars in one piece and many expect usopp to play a huge role in that arc. due to him being inpsired by the giants (dorry, broggy, oimo, kashii) he believes the warriors of elbaf are what he envisions to be a brave warriors.. something he dreams to become. this could be the place he achieves his dreams but also gain some serious power ups (armament, observation or even conquerors haki) if he eventually fight van augur of the blackbeard pirates as well as surpass his father and become the king of snipers!

My biggest problem with post timeskip is borderline no character focus for anyone except luffy and sanji usopp was my favorite straw hat pre timeskip but like u said he hasnt done anything for 10 years i hope oda cooks in elbaf
Yup and I think it’s just due to how the story’s already mostly past the setup point so you can’t focus much on the Crew. It’s sad though when you see the characters gradually get “flanderised” but Whole Cake proves that Oda still knows how to cook he just hasn’t had much time to focus on the others yet. Probably Elbaf and Strawhats vs Blackbeard/ Imu will show more of what we fell in love with at the start.
Post timeskip oda seems to centre a single arc around a single character and someone important to them from their backstory
Fishman island focused on Jinbe and Fisher Tiger
Dressrosa focused on Law and Doflamingo
Wholecake Island focused on Sanji
Wano focused on Momo and Oden
And now Egghead is focusing on Bonney and Kuma
This leaves pretty much everyone else who has no connection to the big flashback, with practically no character focus other than the monster trio
One thing that's worth pointing out: Even as it stands, Usopp may not have the worst luck against Van Auger. Like you said, he always comes through when the cards are on the table. He's intelligent and resourceful, and he's been able to take out much stronger opponents when he can get over his nerves.
But someone pointed something out to me before I started watching One Piece and I can pretty much confirm it after completely catching up: aside from extenuating circumstances, *Usopp never misses a shot.* Not _once._ Even when he's shitting bricks, even when he's taking impossible shots that defy reason, he's always hit his mark.
In my opinion, realizing that would be all it takes for Usopp to get his much-deserved power up.

actually he misses alot of shots vs the marines on the bridge while luffy is fighting lucci and zoro even saves him and they make a gag of usopp thinking he must of taken them all out while his eyes were closed.
Actually he missed, Rufy does a lot of evasions in their fight

While everyone is waiting for luffy to meet shanks i been waiting for ussop to meet his dad again i always picture the scene going like this the strawhats pulls up to elbaf n shanks crew come meet them at the coast n while everyone excited n happy to meet the red hair pirates the camera gonna swing around n show the back of usspo head down legs shaking n crying then he shout out to his dad in hurt n anger n usspo tell his dad how mom got sick n died he will tell him how he felt weak n a coward n he ask luffy for permission to duel his dad n if luffy would sit back n watch similar to how yassop had asked shanks to watch his duel with bigg daddy n during the duel they will have a true heart to heart
Personally I’ve given up on Usopp being any form of a relevant character since Dressrosa, but if he doesn’t get any better character development or power up in Elbaf then wtf is he even doing on the crew? He’s basically been running away like a coward for nearly a decade now
If he wasn't a coward then he wouldn't be brave...

I agree about Usopp having a top 5 bounty by the end of the series. The whole point of his character is that he’s really weak and cowardly but has a comically fraudulent reputation as a legend. He keeps collecting crazy titles like Sogeking and God Usopp, there are several statues built dedicated to him, he’s loved by the giants and the tontatta.
God Ussop should get its own movie, because that shits gonna be world record movie
Personally I believe Loki lied to all the giants so that he could become king. I think Usopp will shed light on these lies and either help Loki truly become a worthy king or he’ll lead the giants against Loki.
If it’s the latter, then I see Loki imprisoning Thor (possibly because Thor was gonna be the next king) and then telling the giants that he beat Thor in combat (a lie). Usopp eventually finds Thor and Thor gives him Mjolnir in order to fight against Loki.

Yoo i just thought of something what if usopp somehow ends up reconciling big mom with the giants and as a gift lets zues stay with nami while also giving usopp a hammer with a soul or just implanting a soul in his slingshot, maybe even one made out of adam wood.
Top 4 is pushing it. I do believe he'll get a power up or unlocking to some degree, but to surpass Sanji or Jimbe would be outrageous. Who's to say tho

Usopp 1 upping Van ogur for the sniper tittle is basically a rap; his only problem is he isn't fully aware of his abilities and how to use them to overcome the fears of being hurt in battle or killed.(which his ability to see the future can aid him in overcome for sure). Because what is clear to me is that its Van Ogur's devil fruit ability that uses to hit his target (which is his ability to move objects and people to any point he can see).Now when time comes for Usopp to engage him in battle for the tittle, it goes without saying that Van Ogur won't take him seriously; thus leading to him believing Usopp's future site to be lies until he begins to fall into the traps Usopp could shoot in one direction which then leads to Van Ogur Being caught ( possibly by something like that gaint man eating plant that caught sugar)...🤷🏿♂️
I think Oda might introduce "hiemdall" to help ussop with his observation haki, like a dark king with luffy thing
I dont need to Usopp become powerfull, but I really want to he have some moments.
Usopp doesn't tell lies; he has future site but with him it's a bit wired because by him always being the scared type, it makes his actual visions of the future seems like lies (given he seems scared to death while vocally expressing what he see). And as we know in the combative world of one piece it makes more sense to keep ones visions to yourself as an advantage; but in his case it's always vocal so it seems like this is a weak person telling lies when in fact he's tapping into future site without knowing! And if you really want to see the depths of his abilities just look at film red when him and his dad teamed up. That's what he's capable of once he becomes aware of it!! SO USOPP HAS NEVER TOLD A LIE 😅😅😅
Now when it comes to big mom playing a role in the elbaf series, It seems likely because at some point the walls of Wano has to come down to reveal the ancient weapon for whom ever decides to use it (given Luffy said he didn't need it right now);👀 and I don't full believe big mom and kiado are dead so her coming through on elbaf holds water for me.
And the theory of her playing a role in Usopp overcoming his fears and possibly having more courage in the face of big mom compared to some giants can do nothing but GREAT things for his character in the ending of One piece; and I think it plays into the encounters Usopp and Chopper has had with big mom in the past with them running in fear everytime from her. Even in the BRONCIO TANK they ran in fear so it's a good plot ending....
And I idea that there's always only one giant pirate crew with only two giants at a time leaving Elbaf could set up Usopp and Chopper as the next class that comes out given the fame they could gain there☝🏿 AND BOTH THEIR ABILITIES TO BECOME GIANTS IN THEIR OWN RIGHT . 🤷🏿♂️My little plot twist!!!
