Thanks for the vid, I took my reel apart to clean like what you did and a few months later, when I push the bail in the spool doesn't release. It reels in fine. If I spin the spool towards the lure I hear clicking. Any ideas where to look?
The outer layer cylinder piece on the detached section (@8:34) is sticky on mine. I've taken alcohol to the outside of the surface several times and keep rubbing off black. I see you oiled the inside but I can't get the sticky film off the outer layer, is that by design?
I no this video is 4 yrs old so I don't no if u will get this but I have the exact same ree. My question is is the Shimano DG-04 & DG-06 different reel grease or the same?
if i use only bass fishing no need grease, but in my country we often use baitcast reels for pike fishing and the slippery drag is important because we use light lines... (sorry for my english)
Josh D. I ran my dc plate under the tap to wash off saltwater. After putting it back together it worked. It just needed a few casts to get it going again. Inside the plate the chip is well protected. Good luck.
My brake quit working a couple months ago as well. Want to try things on my own before giving up and buying a new reel. Did you get it to work again and how?
@@daffamaulana6794 grease only to the main gear-pinion, lineguide wormshaft and if you want put grease to the drag. Oil for the two spool bearings and sliding parts. Do not put oil or grease to he spool or the DC.
