I was dead set on buying the elevate but after watching your video, I’ve changed my mind, thanks for the detailed and extensive evaluation of theses stands… will look into your other videos on the GS 5
Thanks for the honest review !!! I made the mistake of getting a hawk setup and after using it realized I really wanted a quality mobile setup. Elevate comes out and they almost got me to change mind with the magnet sticks not on LWCG but I decided to wait and see any and all reviews that come out and I’m glad I did … I’ll let the company grow and hopefully they figure it out but until then I’ll go for LWCG and pay the extra. Thanks again great Job
Another great video. Love watching your reviews and how you are a realist and not biased. Watched your video about the new latitude vapor lines and decided to buy them myself and am impressed so far just by holding them.
Thanks for this video. I am built almost exactly the same as you and I had been looking for a good treestand to invest in. I always knew lone wolf was top of the line but this convinced me that it is hands down the best on the market.
Machinist by trade and I can say that whoever designed the elevate stand, did it on CAD during their lunch breaks. I see no experienced ingenuity in this design. This was not built for mobile hunters regardless of the weight. Mobile hunters deserve well designed and strong products. I seen a comment that said this should be sold at a lower price but I don’t think it should be sold at all. LWCG or beast stand are the only premium stands available today. If you wanna save money, don’t finance a 70,000 dollar truck haha.
This is what I think. Anyone can draw up a CAD drawing and take it to a machine shop and have them cut the part. So you got people making these items with zero experience in tree stand design or the ability to make a product that is going to live up to the rigors of hunting. Think of it this way, if you hunt 6 hours per hunt for 40 hunts that’s 240 hours spend in that tree stand. The stand must be beyond the minimum spec. It must exceed what its designed for. Then you need to beef it up in a few more areas to account for the human factor. Its gotta be able to handle cold, hot, wet nasty environments. It needs to have certain areas of the stand beefed up so it doesn’t bend or flex. The people who started Elevate are nice people, I give them that. No denying that at all. I met one of the Stubbs guys, very nice articulate human being, the marketing they are doing is amazing, the logo is DOPE, the t shirts are great. But they have no clue what they are doing and are testing this product on consumers. They aren’t tree stand designers, they hired someone to make a CAD drawing and slapped it into the market. The first stand they made was even worse and even more sloppy.
@@MichiganGreatOutdoors let’s review the sticks for shits n gigs when/if they come out. How two stands make a debut before their sticks is beyond me but I’m willing to bet they’ve ran into even more problems with those.
One of if not the best channels for honest reviews. Seriously, you have saved me a ton of money with your honest reviews. If a company has a weight limit then it should be no issue with someone under hat weight limit. For the people saying you are too heavy and/or too close to the weight limit then they are just butt hurt that the stand they just bought has issues and don’t want to admit it. I think a 14 day warranty on a $400+ stand is bs and hopefully the company comes around and corrects some of the issues. Because like you Id like to see them succeed. Hopefully their sticks are better quality when they come out. But seriously dude awesome job. You should have 10x the subs that you have.
Thank you means a lot!! In my opinion the teeth on the platform are wayyyyyyy too aggressive and cause the platform to dig too deep, what happens is it gets stuck and cant slide. Then your body weight is applied to the platform, and it can bend. If you watch when I toe hook the platform you can see the bend it creates.
What a great review, I'm glad I watched this video. I myself am a cheap bastard and was leaning towards the new stand, but now I am going with the LWCG. I work in a machine shop that does water jetting and milling along with coating metals. I will go with a hardcoat over powder coating any day. Thicker material at the same weight, hell yah. More structure, lifetime warranty and more accessories for the win. I hope the new company makes some modifications and improvements to their stands and does well in the future. More American made competition is a great thing.
I really like your reviews because you are up front you tell the truth and give your opinions also. Screw anyone that says your to big for that stand. It should have a 200lb weight limit then. They should put out a better product if they want someone to talk about the flaws.
Based on everything you covered, it looks like the extra $80 is well worth it for the additional features, lighter weight, and more refined finish and carrying position. With that said, Elevate could make some easy changes keeping the price the same and be competitive.
And I’m all for the longer videos. You showed different aspect and comparisons beyond the .5 and this stand but the complaints about first gen stuff and even how those products are far better. Much respect it’s not always easy to say something public in a negative light about a product someone put their heart and soul into… but it needed to be said. Will be interesting to see where it goes from here
Great review as always. Seems like the ultra could have a place at a lower price point but for 80$ more you get a more feature rich better quality stand
Its clear where this market is headed. Everyone is chasing $$$ trying to be the lightest and smallest. I really appreciate these real world tests showing the potential flaws before we buy a product.
Damnit I love honesty and appreciate your work. Your one of the best brother . Season getting close !! About a month out here in wisconsin . Good luck this year
LWCG had it's issues when they started out. However their equipment now is, IMHO, the best you can get. Their equipment is just so good. The features, fit, finish are amazing. It is what it is. They make the best equipment...
Hey man you sold me on lwcg a while back still glad I made that choice. I sit in the woods this evening and saw 2 buck and a doe... super exited for September bow season... great video
Great honest review. Hopefully they listen too your comments and make some changes to the stand. Looking forward to a review of the mesh seat on a LWCG stand.
Appreciate the review. I’ve got the elevate Ultra, a LWCG .5 and a LWCG .75. I like them all and they’ve got their purpose. Clearly, I haven’t been able to get the Ultra or the .75 in the field, and will have more of an idea after the season. I don’t mind the water here marks, but I get where that would be an issue for some. In regards to the treads, that would be a nice feature on the ultra, but living in Maryland, and being from Texas, ice is not really an issue for me, so not a deal breaker. I think LWCG is the standard, but it’s good to see a new entrant. All this competition means we’ll get more ingenuity, and innovation.
I agree, I love to see new ideas coming to life as well. Keep an eye on them areas that could bend. If your a lighter guy it might be ok. In my opinion the teeth on the platform are wayyyyyyy too aggressive and cause the platform to dig too deep, what happens is it gets stuck and cant slide. Then your body weight is applied to the platform and it can bend. If you watch when I toe hook the platform you can see the bend it creates.
For me, LWCG is the way to go. I just picked up a .5 and I can't believe how well it is made. I watched this review months ago and it helped me make my decision. If I wanted to save money on a stand I would go with Novix. They seem like a a company that puts out a quality product at a good price. It's unfortunate about the Element but you don't save enough money over the Lone Wolf to justify buying one.
I'm a few stuffed cabbage & pirogi's away from 260, (245). I like the original Lone Wolf sit & climb, and for hang on stands, the old fashioned Lok-on. Not paying that much for a hang on no matter how good. Good review broski.
Liking all the content and reviews man! Idk about anyone else, but I appreciate that you're 100lbs heavier than me and still hunting/testing stands I plan to hunt from. Just lets me know I'll be safe if you're safe haha. Im in my second season hunting and only saddle hunted. Just bought a LWCG .5 on Black Friday and can't wait for it to come in!
No hate here. Another thoughtful review. My take-a-way is there will always be companies who copycat without the quality. Spend the extra $ if you're in that market and go LWCG. Peace from Northern MN.
I talked to the owner at the Mobile Hunter Expo and I asked if it was water jetted. I can’t remember if he said it was laser cut or plasma cut. When he told me that I was surprised because of the heat involved. I asked him if that effected the integrity and he said no because they made it thicker.
I don’t know if he was referring to the areas they made thicker versus the thinner areas or what? At the show I only saw the top of the stand and not the bottom. I wasn’t impressed with the quality of it compared to the LWCG or Beast stand.
Something you have not mentioned is durability and longevity (and quietness). I am still using 2 Lone Wolf Alpha I's and 4 climbing sticks I bought in the late 90's. I have replaced a couple of the straps and replaced the cables on each stand 2 years ago, just to be safe. Every season, I do check all bolts, especially on the sticks, to make sure they are snug and squeak free. These stands are around 10lbs each (before I wrapped each with camo tape), though the platform of the Alpha I is much larger than the stands in your comparison. Lone Wolf was the first to manufacture stands like this. It took some time for Lone Wolf to make progress to the point they are now. Perhaps Elevate will have similar growing pains.
GREAT video. And no hate here. It’s refreshing to get the down and dirty o products. ESPECIALLY when they are supposed to be top tier high end, for the cost. Unlike the “other” review video I watched on this stand the flaws was pointed out and addressed. Also add that in that same video mentioned…I could literally see all the trash finishing you brought up..and was never even pointed out. So it’s easy to see who is a “pro staffer” or given a discount/free stand to put a good word out. Keep doin you sirbendsalot😉
thanks I appreciate that a lot! A tree stand is a device that your literally risking your life on every time you use it. Sure you have a harness on but what if that fails too. I want a stand that is going to hold up and EXCEED minimum safety standards. The elevate stand is clearly not up to snuff and there is no way they tested that stand for real world use. Maybe it should have a 200LB rating.
This is a GREAT review. I was about to buy the Element but after this I can see how much better the LWCG is constructed. Will last much longer and worth the extra money. Thanks for a great review brother ! What belt are you using for your lineman belt ?
So is that the newest .5 or your original - got mine last September and it looks different as far as attachments and that one looks like the edges are smoother
No, its the new one. I ordered another one cause I wanted to compare the newest version of this stand vrs the competition. I wanted an updated stand for a comparable video. Plan was to buy, make video and sell but now I wanna keep it lol, cause im an idiot. LOL
Great-thanks!well I'm an idiot too gonna do the same and get a second .5 and keep both -have 6 17" sticks and 6 14" sticks The 14" sticks Have great finish and rounded edges and milled versa buttons so need a matching stand . Eventually I will shave quite a bit all the edges on the original .5 and the 17" sticks -will be much lighter and much better handling Than somehow rubberize everything so the weight gonna probably end up same - not an issue for me I'm only 200lb
In the first 30 secs of the video the flex of both stands concerns me , I’d like a larger stand for saddle hunting , a stand this size would be terrific, I’ll stay with the Predator XL for now
A swing and a miss for this company, I'm sorry but that's just not up to Parr at 260lbs myself no way !!! I'll stick with my helo and lwcg .75 . Great video and honest review💯
It’s funny how many people want to sit there and call guys who own and run lwcg stands and hype them up “fan boys…” no there’s a group of us who have tried and used multiple options… and we know what works right, what’s made with great quality, and what’s safe and will last. In a world where people are pushing the envelope of weight and quality… I have to say I am very impressed with what lwcg has done. Honestly I don’t know if I’d be as happy about my .5 if I had bought the one released… but I am blown away not with just it, but the .75 too. I would say this is a break out year for them as these stands are amazing. My mini compacts are super nice too!
I think what we are seeing really is a company Lone Wolf who has been making mobile hunting tree stands for 38 years vrs. A new startup company that has no clue what they are doing. There is a reason that the LWCG stands hold up vrs the competitors.
I could forgive the crappy water jet look if the stand didn't flex like a teenager with a credit card. I hope they address the issues and come back even better.
Very true! I wish I would have touched on the beast stand more in this video. Its way better than the elevate. I do know that some beast stands have bent on the very end. So if your a heavy guy just keep an eye on it.
@@MichiganGreatOutdoors Yeah I remember you didnt care for the beast stand too much, but I like it, perfect size and the sticks are superb. Only complaint is I dont like how the sticks attach. I am 200 lbs with my entire kit so no concerns with the stand flexing too much or bending for me.
Great video. Long is ok if you’re putting out good stuff👍 I saw the review on The Southern Outdoorsman and I couldn’t believe the crappy finish and cutting marks. I even sent the link to another friend/content creator and he couldn’t believe that company would put out such garbage. I’d be embarrassed if this was my product. It looks like a pre-production model. Even the seat adjuster knob wobbled when turning it. Unreal.
Thanks for this. I was looking at getting a .5 and seen the Elevate stand. Was thinking about which one to get. Looks like I'll be going with my original thought. .5 it is.
Damn ! I've just ordered the elevate one, thinking that it's better then the lone wolf and I paid $360 for it. I'm 170 pounds boots and cloth. Should I cancel the order 😳
if u want a good stand and not spend 5 600 bucks go with a xop vanish u can pick them up for 190 they weigh about 10 10.5lbs with sticks ur looking at 18lbs come on now that ain't shit lol another good stand is the novix helo price went up but good stand about 9.5lbs but if u wanna spend close to 600 bucks go with a beast gear stand 6.8pbs pretty big platform that's my win for expensive stands
@@MichiganGreatOutdoors yeah for sure i mean i mobile hunt but i don't go deep in the woods my biggest buck was a 11pt i got in archery 60 yards off the yard in town by the projects lol people put in imo to much time into scouting it's insane then they get obbessed and angry they didn't get a big one if i get one i get one but if i don't oh we'll least i got a few doe to fill the freezer
@@MichiganGreatOutdoors i do think if i was to spend 500 on a stand it would be the lwcg .5 stand it's a bit small but i don't need much room i almost got into saddle hunting i bought a platform used my buddies saddle just to practice out of it it wasn't bad but it's not for me he ended up selling all his saddle stuff and bought a beast stand
This is a no Brainer honestly. This new company should have went after xop and novix instead of trying to take on the top tier price point stuff. I do like the specs on paper but the price is just way to close to the best for me not to spend the tiny bit extra and have a REAL warranty. 14 day warranty is pathetic
Elevate can keep it. No way would I pay over $400 with just a 14 day warranty. 14 days!!???? Dollar general stuff has better warranties. 14 days....pssshhhhhh.
I dare you to try mobile hunting with the new Vertical Tree stands. Their stands are 17 and 18 pounds and each stick is 4 pounds lol new company and definitely not for mobile hunting.
I was interested in this stand for my wife but after seeing this no way. I also saw elevate post a video and the guy wouldn’t even step in the stand. Clearly hiding something
Yeah I saw there video as well as the southern outdoorsmans video. Seemed like they didnt want to show much, the stand has major issues, people will figure it out after a few hunts.
Wow. What a peice of shit, that's pretty nuts they throw it out there with a 300lb limit then you Bent it first use and still 40lbs less than the limit.. how can they ask that kind of money for sub par gear. They won't last long
In my opinion the teeth on the platform are wayyyyyyy too aggressive and cause the platform to dig too deep, what happens is it gets stuck and cant slide. Then your body weight is applied to the platform, and it can bend. If you watch when I toe hook the platform you can see the bend it creates.
As much as I wanted the elevate stand... This review is changing my mind.. Also, regarding the bend teeth from toe hooking.. their sight says not to do that.. I guess they know it's too thin.. *"Do not toe-hook an Elevate Treestand. It is not needed the way they are designed to bite into a tree. This can void your warranty. Never exceed the total weight limit of a climbing stick or treestand."
This is a long dang video. Sorry to make such a long video but I wanted to cover everything. Next video will be much shorter I promise!!!

This is a GREAT review. I was about to buy the Element but after this I can see how much better the LWCG is constructed. Will last much longer and worth the extra money. Thanks for a great review brother ! What belt are you using for your lineman belt ?
yeah, it had to be shown. Thanks for watching! I think it this video I was wearing the TX5 Minimalist saddle
The water jet marks don’t bother me. But I think the LWCG is a superior product based on other features.
I agree, the water jet marks dont bother me too much other than the varying thickness in the metal.
LOL
Great-thanks!well I'm an idiot too gonna do the same and get a second .5 and keep both -have 6 17" sticks and 6 14" sticks
The 14" sticks Have great finish and rounded edges and milled versa buttons so need a matching stand .
Eventually I will shave quite a bit all the edges on the original .5 and the 17" sticks -will be much lighter and much better handling
Than somehow rubberize everything so the weight gonna probably end up same - not an issue for me I'm only 200lb
@@Tughill1699 kinda the same thing I wanna do. Have a super ultra lightweight setup
Great review as usual.
Glad you enjoyed it
I can't find any factory info on the .5 ??
Whats that mean? What do you want to know?
In the first 30 secs of the video the flex of both stands concerns me , I’d like a larger stand for saddle hunting , a stand this size would be terrific, I’ll stay with the Predator XL for now
sure does flex!!
A swing and a miss for this company, I'm sorry but that's just not up to Parr at 260lbs myself no way !!! I'll stick with my helo and lwcg .75 . Great video and honest review💯
yeah, there stand needs a lot of work!!
I wished LWCG would hurry up with that climbing stand they’re supposed to be coming out with
Yeah, whats the hold up? LOL someone need to ask them
Did they warranty the stand for you?
I was past my 14 days, I didnt reach out to them.
Great job being very detailed brother
longest video of my life lol, time for some shorter ones!
Good, honest review.
Thanks!
Totally agree, I should've showed the footage with my 115 lb wife on the stand and how bad it flexed.
Good video.
The quality of the Elevate does not justify the cost.
Still nothing besting the beast stand and sticks :-)
Long is ok if you’re putting out good stuff👍
I saw the review on The Southern Outdoorsman and I couldn’t believe the crappy finish and cutting marks. I even sent the link to another friend/content creator and he couldn’t believe that company would put out such garbage. I’d be embarrassed if this was my product. It looks like a pre-production model. Even the seat adjuster knob wobbled when turning it. Unreal.
Thanks 👍
Nice review my friend!
Thank you kindly
Thanks for this. I was looking at getting a .5 and seen the Elevate stand. Was thinking about which one to get. Looks like I'll be going with my original thought. .5 it is.
I love the .5 it holds up man. Ive dropped mine out of the tree before too lol
Super rough finish on that Elevate Id deff buy the .5 that elevate would be sent back imo.
You and me both!
Good to see
Like
Thanks for the visit
Great video!
Thank you!!
Damn ! I've just ordered the elevate one, thinking that it's better then the lone wolf and I paid $360 for it. I'm 170 pounds boots and cloth.
Should I cancel the order 😳
I can't tell you what to do, Me personally I wouldn't hunt out of an elevate stand but im 250lbs
It looks like the old school lone wolf sand cast stands in its design.
Yeah, almost like they copied it lol
if u want a good stand and not spend 5 600 bucks go with a xop vanish u can pick them up for 190 they weigh about 10 10.5lbs with sticks ur looking at 18lbs come on now that ain't shit lol another good stand is the novix helo price went up but good stand about 9.5lbs but if u wanna spend close to 600 bucks go with a beast gear stand 6.8pbs pretty big platform that's my win for expensive stands
I agree with all that. Id throw lone wolf in there too.
@@MichiganGreatOutdoors yeah for sure i mean i mobile hunt but i don't go deep in the woods my biggest buck was a 11pt i got in archery 60 yards off the yard in town by the projects lol people put in imo to
much time into scouting it's insane then they get obbessed and angry they didn't get a big one if i get one i get one but if i don't oh we'll least i got a few doe to fill the freezer
Great video.
Glad you enjoyed it
A 14 day warranty may be the shortest warranty in America
yes pretty much.
Beast stand!
definitely better that one of these lol
This is a no Brainer honestly. This new company should have went after xop and novix instead of trying to take on the top tier price point stuff. I do like the specs on paper but the price is just way to close to the best for me not to spend the tiny bit extra and have a REAL warranty. 14 day warranty is pathetic
100% agree, its laughable. The stand was trash
Elevate can keep it. No way would I pay over $400 with just a 14 day warranty. 14 days!!???? Dollar general stuff has better warranties. 14 days....pssshhhhhh.
14 day warranty is laughable
I dare you to try mobile hunting with the new Vertical Tree stands. Their stands are 17 and 18 pounds and each stick is 4 pounds lol new company and definitely not for mobile hunting.
Yeah they look pretty nice for permanent sets!
@@MichiganGreatOutdoors agreed
Would you be interested in selling me that bent stand?? How can I pm you?
Sorry it's gone. Just saw this.
“Little Asian feet”😂😂
yikes lol
I was interested in this stand for my wife but after seeing this no way. I also saw elevate post a video and the guy wouldn’t even step in the stand. Clearly hiding something
Yeah I saw there video as well as the southern outdoorsmans video. Seemed like they didnt want to show much, the stand has major issues, people will figure it out after a few hunts.
I agree. The quality of the cutting process is horrible. Also too thin of material.
Yup!!!
Damn near wrecked my Jeep at ,"little Asian feet"
Lol 😂
That stand Elvate looks like it’s being tested on consumers. Never would so buy that
Yup! Just like Tethrd BETA testing on the consumer.
The beast stand is better then both of these.
hey if thats what you like than great!!
Fu*k em Jayce, keep keeping it real.
Someone has to speak the truth, sad to see how many people wont speak up when its needed.
Damn Jayce you’re thoroughness is f-ing sexy 🔥
Keep cranking the good buddy!!
Thanks my friend
Go easy on this new company. They'll improve.
Lone wolf made a lot of mistakes in the past too. Easy buddy.
I don't compromise on safety. Sorry
@@MichiganGreatOutdoors can you review the kuhnerts ambush?
As much as I wanted the elevate stand... This review is changing my mind..
Also, regarding the bend teeth from toe hooking.. their sight says not to do that.. I guess they know it's too thin..
*"Do not toe-hook an Elevate Treestand. It is not needed the way they are designed to bite into a tree. This can void your warranty. Never exceed the total weight limit of a climbing stick or treestand."
Its junk! Right there with hawk not acceptable for an American made product in my opinion .
You may be right, Im calling it now. There gonna have issues....
Get your money back!!
Just not a good stand
I think it needs a lot of improvement.
Man that elevate looks like garbage. And the flex makes it look like it's made out of foam or something. Wow.
yes, I am heavy though at 265.
@@MichiganGreatOutdoors You're being kind.
Asian feet falling through lol.
hehehe, people got mad at me for saying that lol
Junk is junk bottom line
Yes....
Are the seat posts the same size was thinking of putting an extra xop tree cleat on the elevate stand that i have
im not sure if that would work, did u try it?
Great video
Thank you
