Seriously ktm has really pushed the benchmark with their engines. The pull from these engines are surreal . But however the low end torque was poor in the duke 390, i am not sure about this adv, if it is, then off-roading wouldn't be that desirable.

What about ecu failure and traction control failure?? It's a prominent issue in duke 390.. and the ecu on adv is the same. I've heard it's a huge risk for people who take their bikes for long rides..
No issue yet. Ridden 13k kms till now, just came back from Spiti !
What I want on a bike:-
1) Front Suspension :- Softer like Himalayan.
2) Rear Suspension:-
Softer like G310 GS.
3) Font wheel size:- 19" Tubeless with spokewheels.
4) Rear wheel size:- 18" Tubeless with spokewheels.
5) Engine:- Peppy like KTM 390 with Low End Torque like Himalayan (should come from 2k RPM)
6) Brakes with Cornering ABS (switchable) like KTM 390.
7) MTC
8) 18 LIT Fuel Tank like TRK 251.
9) Lightweight Trellis Still frame with good quality durable parts.
10) Good wind shield that can protect me from wind at 130 km/h.
Overall good reliability and good mileage too.
U didn't mention the budget so get the 1250gsa 😂

There are many complains of no power at all under 4000 rpm and crappy fuel pipe. Should I still go for this bike? Compare to dominar 400 ug and want bang for the buck is ktm adv still good to go?

There's no denying the fact that Himalayan is more comfortable than adv 390
But everything else was far superior than Himalayan , i mean the quality , power , features , fit and finish , paint quality , everything other than seating comfort and seat height was far far better than Himalayan .
I know i shouldn't compare because of 390s price , Himalayan is value for money at 2.3 lakhs ,
Adv 390 is double the price which is a bit staggering to me
honestly i booked the adv 390 but couldn't connect with it as i sat on the bike instead of in the bike like the himalayan..

There is no adjustable front forks in the adv390 + mileage for me is around 30-32KMPL even when I have been excess of 150+ many a times.
@A R I have been only 2 long rides courtesy the lockdown, my constant speed is 110-120 and I get a mileage of 30 atleast.
@A R I rode the RC390 for 5 years covering 50K kms and I can agree that low end torque is still an issue for some people. Trust me it cannot be considered a deal breaker. I have never stalled the bike in first gear, just need to know how to accelerate. Also the vibrations are much better than any KTM 390. One thing I would like to reiterate is that,himalayan, x pulse, impulse & adv390 have more off road credibility than our skills. People who want to go off road need to buy an enduro bike and not a adventure. Hence in Dakar rally you would see rally bikes and not BMW GS or Triumph Tiger or KTM adventure 1290.
Buy this bike if you want comfortable touring with safety package + it's very credible off roading ability. Worth every single penny.
@A R it won't stall if you modulate the throttle accordingly, so it's completely upto you on how well you know the bikes behaviour. Night lights are awesome and yes bash plate is full metal but if you require you can always get a aftermarket bash plate.
@A R buddy if you can do it on a RS200 then on ADV 390 it would be very easy for you. I am no one to comment for youtubers but definitely people don't know the difference between adv bikes vs enduro bikes.
Bike is superb, no doubt. But I'd prefer an interceptor with motowings exhaust just for the sake of that beautiful sound

Both are top heavy bikes .. go for vstrom or tiger 850 sport .. if you can afford them.. else.. out of 2 you've mentioned.. I'd pick the versys.. and remember the last thing you'd want if you took a fall somewhere.. is the weight..

No problem getting a 390 as a first bike, some people start with 650. But i started with my father's splendor+😃
