Bonecrusher 1) is two-for-one, since you can cast both modes, 2) prevents damage prevention on the shock side, which is occasionally relevant, 3) punishing to use targeted removal on, unlike the Sniper (which has two types...relevant for synergies, but also more vulnerable), and, probably most importantly 4) 4 power, making it a great attacker to put pressure on an opponent or to brick wall something. If Twinshot Sniper cycled instead of channeled and cantripped when it ETB along with the damage, I could see an argument for it being underrated. It's decent value in a deck like this that can make use of all parts of the buffalo, but it's no Bonecrusher.
@@Stray7 I was using it for a while in the fact of the Rotpriest plague that hit Arena for a bit because a channeled ability is not a spell!... By my Arena collection was garbage, so all that means is that I didn't have better options, not that they don't exist =P

This video makes me wonder if the Nahiri's Resolve could be a good sideboard card in a non-dedicated deck, what with all the Sunfalls running around, and Jeskai being so good right now. Notably gives Ojutai infinite hexproof.

Elesh Norn is basically like Loran, a good card to bring on the side board at the very least when you can. Her ability to shutdown battles in general, along with basically any ETB, has been a huge boon -- in particular against ramp decks which rely on Zendikar + Topiary Stomper to ramp she just shuts that down hard, just a matter of protecting her at that point (so bring in those Salvation / Loran's escape or enchantment removal against the Leyline Binding).
310.11b Sieges have the intrinsic ability “When the last defense counter is removed from this permanent, exile it, then you may cast it transformed without paying its mana cost.” That’s why I think a controller can cast the spell.
Correct. If it was just Iganjo it would sound like ee-ganjo if it was just Egango it would sound like eh-ganjo, but the ei at the front makes it sound like eye-ganjo. But given how Seth likes to troll, he may very well know how to pronounce it correctly but just wants to make people big mad.
Gotta say, with the rotation, I've been able to play some really fun decks. I have recently been enjoying a mono-white deck with a blue sideboard built around Heliod and Inv. of Theros
I'm pretty sure the stolen battle would work, the problem with cards like Sheoldred is that they specify that they come back "under their owners control" which is why flipping them when stolen is bad.
I have a very similar historic deck that I've been running for a long time where it also runs Solemn Simulacra and Brilliant Restorations. It's just one of the most fun decks to play with.

I was running this deck before the ban, but fable of the mirror breaker is kind of essential for the deck. Seems strange to run jetmir's garden and not have atleast 1 green card though. the Rocco tutor is perfect in this deck, letting you run less copies of mom. 4x Lay down arms is also essential imo in the main. and because of the 2 drops you can get away with 22 lands easily. No serra paragons or wandering emperor is also trolling XD.
I've been playing a deck very similar to this one, except I splashed G for Rocco, Street Chef. The value is insane! If you can stick Rocco and Mom, get a Nahiri's Resolve on the battlefield and cast Etali, the triggers are like a slot machine. It sounds like a lot has to go right, but I've been pulling this off somewhat constantly. No other deck in Standard can keep up with this value train.
I've been playing this deck since Resolve was released! It is definitely a pile of value and works surprisingly well. Stealing some ideas from this deck for mine

There is just one against the odds deck I wanna see. Invasion of ravnica. It is really fun and good with cards like bloodthithe and invasion of amonkhet(I think thats the dimir one). To flip it, you can just use the four damage battle. It's like battle tribal but with two colors
Flipping battle's goes to the opp because it goes to exile, checks who the owner is, and then the owner of the card casts the back half for free as when cards shift zones, it defaults to return to the owner > the controller. It's somewhat similar to Cloudshifting a stolen creature which reads "Return that card to the battlefield under your control." Because the default is to return a non-owned permanent to its owner, not controller, this text is needed. At least I'm pretty sure that's right?
Technically, since it says when it's defeated you (the controller) exile it and cast it, it doesn't actually have the wording of "Under its owners control" or "by its owner" or something, so, unless there's secret rules tomfoolery, if you cast a stolen battlefield and then defeat it, you should be the one who gets to cast it, since it never checks its owner, just its controller. I've been scouring the... Okay, first page or so of google results, and I can't find anything that would suggest it'd do the thing the Saga Praetors do.
@@LadyMapi i actually run in the trenches in a modified version of seth’s convoke tokens deck from the early access day of MOM standard and sometimes that does come in clutch honestly. though paying 3 and then 6 later for an o-ring does feel really bad it’s still been very useful more often than i thought it would be
I wish Arena allowed you to view your opponent’s hand when viewing the battlefield at the end of a game so you can see their battle plan to better understand why they scooped/lost/won or if you were inspired by their deck, see what other shenanigans they had in hand at the end of a game. This may seem like a huge advantage for a best of 3, but I don’ really see the potential when there’s side boarding.

I hope we eventually see a more agro version, Nahiri's Abandon or something which was a tad cheaper, gave +2/-1 and fully removes your team (no choice) so that you can't block. Obviously this is a very rough idea and would need some tweaking but I think it'd be more interesting to really channel players into agro.
30:25 I mulligan only on free one from commander, no lands, all lands and sometimes on 1 land hand or 5lands. Card games are already a game of chance and while we can skew the probability one way or another, i value 1 extra card and relying on the 30% chance a turn to draw land more than the idea i'd get a better hand. If i concede in 3 turns, no hard feeling go next but going to 5 cards is very miserable experience, even if you win, i'd rather go next and have a blast in next game where RNG did not screw me with starting hand than play the 5cards in hand game.
So if you actually check the popular decks metagame for standard. The soldiers deck does play 2 Faerie Masterminds and 2 Skrelv's in the main deck. Skrelv I agree with but unsure about the main deck mastermind out of a soldiers list
That third deck is super sweet - Tocasia's Welcome's a genius inclusion since there are a bunch of Flash Soldiers in Standard (including Protect The Negotiators). I honestly feel like that's just a better version on Soldiers (though it does feel like a betrayal that it has a couple non-Soldiers in it). EDIT: Match 4, not 3. Oops!
I dont get why they didnt do a last rotation before making Standard into extended. Its really more odd because all bams we got were cards that were going to rotate anyway.
At 5 colorless mana, Invasion of Ravnica has been fantastic for me since the ban. It exiles nearly every relevant Planeswalker, enchantment, artifact, and Atraxa. Also, it flips to a 5/5 artifact creature making it resilient to most spot removal.
It was one of our opponent's battles that we controlled (we had hit it with Etali). For some reason I was worried that because it exiles itself the opponent would regain control of it (similar to how we tried to flip our opponent's Sheoldred a couple weeks ago and the opponent go the saga side).
I don' t understand how I've used this deck and lost 7 games straight and Olive keeps getting wins, possibly the least successful deck I've ever used of his
I think it might partly be because I've spent the past 7 years playing Panharmonicon decks. If there's one kind of deck I should be halfway decent at playing it's decks like this lol
I’ve revisited this deck after about a week and have found more success after a lot more practice! I don’t think I’ll ever be able to play as consistently as you, but I’m gonna keep playing and learning!

the favorite deck I use after the banning is esper flash with lorelmaster. Really grindy and you can also put errant and giada in there

One thing that might be interesting to try is devilish valet. Since it sees all the creatures entering at the same time might be a bit explosive

Ossification works with blink if you’re having to exile any tokens your opponent has played.
