I really appreciate that. Unfortunately, the reality of youtube is: no matter how good your video is, if no one clicks on it then no one will watch it. I do think sol9 mole mining is ruined, this mining run was uncharacteristic of the others I've tried in 3.22.
I recently got back into the game and just started exploring and flying around in my noob Aurora ship. Getting the hang of it again. I've been in and out of the game and never done anything noteworthy but dying on simple missions or to other players. I landed somewhere on Microtech at some ore delivery platform, and while I was there some big ass ship landed, and a player in heavy gear jumped out, walking awkwardly to deliver the precious cargo. We just stared at each other for a moment then went by our business. It was a friendly encounter which lifted my spirit to get back into it without having to think every player is instantly hostile.
I have just been strip mining lately. I have found that even though I get a load of junk, the time and turn over have some better returns Vs time spent... also I'm mostly in it for the crack of the rock and second comes the profits.
the cluster buff module is a must for at least one laser on a multi-crew mole. Love the new look of the rocks, makes me want to get back to mining! Great video
Ive indeed noticed that scanning with the mole became way buggier than before. Sometime I have to toggle mining mode multiple times to get it to work But again, I dont feel it has been ruined. I do way more while solo MOLE mining than with the Prosc
Mining just needs some solid tuning ship wise. I think they've ironed out lasers, gadgets and mods for the most part. The mole has 3 lasers and can hold 3x the amount as the prospector, but that feels very cut and dry. Size 2 lasers are really not that much more powerful than size 1s. Like the difference between the arrastra and the mole is going to be staggering.
Glad you had fun in Las Vegas.. which is where I live. The Stip is great for people out of state BUT there is SOOO much away form the strip to do. Red Rock is a great place to visit with beautiful views, and then we Have Mt Charleston for hiking and if during winter Skiing, Lake Mead/Boulder Dam is great to see how Man built such a wesome piece of technology PLUS a great walk/hike along the Lake where the old trains was used to transfer the contruction bits on building the dam. Alas in SC I gave up on Mining for now. I do like the Mole BUT the way she is operating right now is not in a good spot in my opinion PLUS CIG needs to work on the Ping more, get the server to stop making the rocks disappear/re appear, Info on a rock where you need to be like 50m from it (again that is tied to PING) or worse the server dosent even register the rock (no matter what you throw at it and it). I might come back to mining later on when server is more stable and less Cogs needed to go from finding Rock to refining to delivering SCU's. Went back to my Starfarer and enjoying the Reclaimer right now (I know there will be more cogs inserted into Salvage).
my only complaint about the mole is how "snappy" its handling is. The thing looks like a giant industrial machine, but it handles like a light fighter. I want to feel some weight on my sticks!
There's a video before this one where I go over in detail my load out. Idk if there is a set meta right now. I've built my mole to support solo and crew mining. Front laser helix 2, 2x Reiger C3 and 1x Stampede Left laser: hofstede 2, 1x torpid and 1x torrent III right laser: hofstede 2, 1x FOCUS III and 1x Torrent III
I have a vid where u can still do the HH mission if u want to try and get the Reclaimer. No salv vehicle needed. I love my Reclaimer, making about a Mil and hour is def doable to get you into the Reclaimer that really is orders of magnitude more per hr.
yea, sad i have to let some of the big ones go. Even with a full crew on the mole im sure we wouldnt pop them. And they were good rocks too. Gold/Bexa @rayfox
@@epic_grayfox Celin doesnt have winds - it's why I solo mole out of CRU - L1 🙂 Common ores - lots of Titanium - Borase - Laranite, Hephaestanite (which is tricky to not go bang in your face). Occasional Quantanium - But specifically I come across 25 - 35 rocks that I just cant break solo. It isnt difficult to make easy money and the proximity to CRU - L1 means fast turn around.
Defintley dont want a reclaimer still busted this patch and u fail the mission fracturing it not salvaging it .... also having to unload it to sale takes u 2hrs ... can only sale what snapped to the grid too now ..

Seriously.. you spend more time looking for rocks. Especially how finicky scanning is in a Mole. All for you to go back and pay tons of aUEC in refining, Then take more time and money hauling it to a city to get barely any profit... It definitely does feels like more risk than reward. Which is a bummer because it is fun breaking down rocks. They really need to lower refining surcharge if anything.
Yes, if you know the ropes. Mole placement, descending the ladder lol, laser choice, tweaks and knowing which to use at the right time...all together w/the Mole's storage advantage over the Prospector and it's a win, even solo!

Just put mole bags on your prospector, problem solved
I feel the opposite way about Pyro. I am hoping that most stay there once it’s out, so I can have more ‘space’ in Stanton 😎
Pyro may be the place griefers prefer, and the laid-back in Stanton. If so it's all good!

Is it lore accurate or realistic? No.
Is it fun to fly like a ladies? Yes 😎
Hello fellow fox, i've left mining scene since 3.18 and want to see your loadout for mole cause i don't know current meta.

I called the 3.18 the great mining NERF. I have not mined since then.

What's the build you're using?
on lyria, ive been coming across quite a few 60-90k mass as well as a few 100k's and even a 141k
I feel like I've found more consistent big rocks since I made this video. Strange game, must be in alpha 👀

Have a look at Celin, I am still finding bigger stuff there that I cant break!
Does Celin have high winds? What are the common ores there?

72k quant rock found on lyria, basicly the game said fck you xD
been doin my mining on Lyria with a mole seeing some 100k+ rocks, but been doin pretty well there

The current meta is always the most profitable. Salvage will get a nerf.
