Basically, both Muslims and non-Muslims pay some form of "tax", be it in the form of Zakat (to put into baitulmal and the other asnaf) and jizya to enjoy the public good such as internal and external protection (policing, military) etc just like how citizens pay their taxes in a nation under the Social Contract theory. Under this theory as well, wouldnt it mean that non-Muslims are free-riding that they dont have to pay jizya during that time while the Muslims pay zakat??

That’s why we look at other books of ahadiths and understand them clearly and in depth. The basic concept is in Quran and to understand them more you look at hadiths of prophet Muhammad pbuh and follow his way of life as we believe he lived it to the best and accordingly to what Allah has ordained. In prayer tho, be sure that Allah hears every word you speak better than the person sitting you and knows what’s in your heart, so clear your intention to Him and the way we do our prayer pleases him but will benefit you so you are speaking to Allah when you are in prayer, and in sujood (prostration) you can take your time and after saying what u gotta say u can talk to him directly in your own way by asking for guidance, provisions, and whatever you may need or want. Some people spend up to half an hour if not more just expressing their love for God or asking what they may want for themselves or their children or close ones. May Allah guide you and He knows best.

Example: Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Abbas (r.a) reports that Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said: ‘The black stone is a white ruby from the rubies of Jannah, Paradise, it was only blackened due to the sins of the those who join partners with Allah. It will be brought forth on the day of judgment as huge as mount Uhud, to testify on behalf of those who touched or kissed it in the world.’ (Appears in Sahih Ibn Khuzaymah, Hadith: 2734) Again, where does it says that Muslims worship the Ka'ba? These people must be lonley and HIGH! "to testify on behalf of those who touched or kissed it in the world". There are tones of stuff that will testify to you or against you in the doom day that Allah SWT has mentioned in the Holy Qur'an. I think the reason why David finds the Qur'an "unclear" or confusing is because his intentions are ill-intended. If he went in with the intention of genuinely wanting to learn and understand the true message from the Qur'an like I do and many people do, then I feel he would be able to understand things and things would be so clear to him because the truth is very clear. However, because he wants to create chaos and is reading the Qur'an trying to convince himself that he is confused and trying to find faults in it, then that's what he's going to get and Allah has sealed him from ever gaining the truth. I think it was all his plan. Sheikh had already clarified this issue in his twitter. But he claims to not know it and brought up this issue. Notice how David was being ignorant and interrupting Sheykh the whole time except the part where Sheykh talked about his twitter. He pretended to be so polite. Just so that he could cut that part out and feed that to his followers. They would assume he was being polite and all and it was sheykh who was lying. That’s why we look at other books of ahadiths and understand them clearly and in depth. The basic concept is in Quran and to understand them more you look at hadiths of prophet Muhammad pbuh and follow his way of life as we believe he lived it to the best and accordingly to what Allah has ordained. That’s my understanding and i Hope i made it clear.

In prayer tho, be sure that Allah hears every word you speak better than the person sitting you and knows what’s in your heart, so clear your intention to Him and the way we do our prayer pleases him but will benefit you so you are speaking to Allah when you are in prayer, and in sujood (prostration) you can take your time and after saying what u gotta say u can talk to him directly in your own way by asking for guidance, provisions, and whatever you may need or want. Some people spend up to half an hour if not more just expressing their love for God or asking what they may want for themselves or their children or close ones. May Allah guide you and He knows best.

I think the reason why David finds the Qur'an "unclear" or confusing is because his intentions are ill-intended. If he went in with the intention of genuinely wanting to learn and understand the true message from the Qur'an like I do and many people do, then I feel he would be able to understand things and things would be so clear to him because the truth is very clear. However, because he wants to create chaos and is reading the Qur'an trying to convince himself that he is confused and trying to find faults in it, then that's what he's going to get and Allah has sealed him from ever gaining the truth. It's a sad situation for David and all I can do is pray for him, but it's amazing to see Allah's ayahs right before my eyes in these videos. SubhanAllah
That’s so true! He’s honestly helping more Christians who are genuinely looking for the truth, who are open to the idea of Islam being true, come towards Islam! Allah(SWT) is using him to strengthen the ilm of the Ummah, weeding out the weaker ones who’s iman is broken by Wood’s preachings, all the while the Christians who watch him can grow a deeper bond and connection with Islam, subhanAllah!

I don't know. When I read the Quran I reach the same observations as David. I've been researching Islam for this entire year, read the Quran 9 times along with Tafsir Ibn Kathir, Tafsir As-Sa'di, History of Al-Tabari and Sahih Muslim and Bukhari. I'm not religious either so I have no agendas here. I just think most of your religious scholars are disingenuous and intellectually dishonest.

But I have very rarely have had to resort to outside info to understand the Quran, specifically related to verses discussing certain events taking place in Medina and Mecca 1400 years ago between the Muslims and Quraysh. Mustafa Khattab’s The Clear Quran translation is one of the easiest things I’ve ever read and studied.
