    In my country we have an orchid nursery (organised and created by the Taiwanese Government as a gift to our country), and they grow (and sell) the top four orchids you have mentioned, except for the Paphiopedilums, which makes sense to me. I really wish sometimes, they had a wider variety - but hey! We should be grateful for what we have been given. They do have quite an extensive nursery of different flowers to choose from which is a plus. Again thanks for your knowledge and commitment.

    Thanks again.

    • @Orchideria
      @Orchideria  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Atanu, I don't have a foxtail orchid, so I can't make a video about them. I wish I had one... It's on my wish list along with vandas. I have a pinterst page though with lots of Rhycostylis and pictures of their growth. They are gorgeous orchids and worth every dollar. If you go to pinterst for Orchideria and look at the list of boards, look for the one with the foxtail.

      @@Orchideria Hi Amanda, thanks for sharing your experiences. I will definitely try your Pinterest link. Actually I am in the process of re potting 5 Foxtail orchids from a random collection. Since I don't know of what variety it is, I just wanted to collect some info about it.
      Thank you.

    your blue orchid is stunning!! Is that a natural color, or artificially colored? If it's real, where did you get it?

    • @Orchideria
      @Orchideria  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Maxine! Unfortuneately, the orchid is not natural. Blue dye is injected in the stem as soon as the buds form. When it reblooms next year, it will be white. I actually have a video coming out about the blue orchid. I think it will come out this Saturday, but I have to double check on the date. Sometimes you can buy them at local grocery stores. Thanks for your comment!

    👋howdy 🤠
    I just come from working at a property that had probably over 100 orchids laying around on the ground that had grafted to the ground. I didn’t realize what they were the first week however definitely picked up on it by week two. Because they’re not in the right medium they haven’t thrived. They just survived over time grafted to old mulch and soil. Long story short I now have probably 125 orchids now but don’t know what any of them are. They came from a beautiful property that had been neglected unfortunately. Hopefully I saved them with new sphagnum and bark.

    • @loadedfun4764
      @loadedfun4764 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@alicesmith6750 thank you for asking! Over the year I had given them out to friends and family. It had become quite a mission to just keep them alive on my lanai here in Florida. Although I did keep a few vanda’s for myself .

    Aerial are fine even when they're silvery in color?

    • @Orchideria
      @Orchideria  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The silvery color is still healthy, just indicates it's close to watering time. Brown roots are the problem.

    What is the difference between Odontocidium and oncidium or is it the same?

    • @Orchideria
      @Orchideria  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi EE, They are almost the same but have slight differences. The ondontocidium is a cross between an oncidium and a ondontoglossum.

    • @Orchideria
      @Orchideria  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Nun Hlua, Thank you for the comment. There are so many types of orchids, and it's amazing to learn about each one. Sometimes it's a good idea to find a group of orchid enthusiasts around your area and ask their advice because they should know what orchids live in your area and how to care for them. They would know better than I will :) since each environment is different.
