  • Did you know that John Ritter's father was a country singer by the name of Tex Ritter, and did you know that they both died from the same type of heart failure? Tex Ritter was a country singer best known for performing the title theme of the Western hit film High Noon. Although Tex had an association with Hollywood through his gig performing the title song of the classic Western, he didn’t have much respect for those who dedicated their lives to acting.

    Even though his father didn't respect actors, John Ritter still decided that he wanted to become one halfway through college. John had been pursuing a degree in psychology but decided to pursue a career in the dramatic arts instead after becoming passionate about the field. Tex was devastated, preferring that John venture into a stable career instead of a career in the entertainment industry. John’s brother, Tom, became a lawyer and went on to find immense success in the field. Tex likely would've preferred for John to do something like that, though things turned out okay for John Ritter anyways!
    Before Tex Ritter’s death in 1974, John managed to win over his father’s respect with his role as Reverend Matthew Fordwick on the hit series The Waltons. As a religious man, Tex enjoyed seeing his son tasked with performing in the role of a positive religious figure. Tex passed away from heart failure, and the same specific type of heart failure took John’s life nearly three decades later.
    After his father’s death, John Ritter rose to fame thanks to his role on the hit 1977 series Three’s Company. John would maintain success in the entertainment industry in the remaining years until his death, with him passing away during the filming of the second season of the successful sitcom 8 Simple Rules. Join Facts Verse as we explore how John Ritter lost his father’s respect but managed to earn it back.

    yes I knew that Tex Ritter, a Singing Cowboy, Opry member and CMA Country Music Hall of Famer and he started the Country Music Association back in 1961 and was its first president. And that Jonathon Southworth Ritter AKA John Ritter was his son along with son Thomas Ritter and Jason, John's son was third member of the Ritter acting clan. Tex before he started as a Singing Cowboy , briefly studied law but stopped due to the Depression. Because of his voice Tex would do radio work including shows on WSM 650 AM with radio legend Ralph Emery. John's mom Faye Ritter supported Opry members when Tex was a member. I am glad to hear that Thomas got the surgery to correct the heart/cardiac issue. Aortic Disection is more common than we first believe and families need to have it checked out to avoid tragic situations like Tex and John.

    *Correction:* John Ritter died from an aortic dissection, which isn't a "heart attack." An aortic dissection is a tear of the aorta which if it ruptures can cause internal bleeding. It could also cause a myocardial infarction, which is colloquially referred to as a "heart attack" if the exsanguination also leads to decreased blood flow to the coronary arteries. It often presents with symptoms similar to a myocardial infarction and is in the differential diagnosis for it and this is what Ritter's doctors thought he had and misdiagnosed him. (His father's death was listed as "heart attack" He wasn't diagnosed with an aortic dissection, but his family believes that since John and his brother had it that his father's cause of death was probably misdiagnosed as well *but there is no confirmation of this, only speculation* ) so we need to be careful when we put just any information out there in a TH-cam video that may not be correct. I suppose if they really wanted to know, they could exhume Tex and see if his remains haven't decomposed enough to make viewing the aorta impossible to confirm or refute the theory, but it is just a theory. Even if they could get DNA from Tex's remains and test for a gene, that would only confirm that he carried the gene, but would not be sufficient enough to diagnose him with it or confirm that it's what he died from (again, unless you could actually see his aorta.)
    By the way, everyone who dies dies from a heart attack--including suicide victims, people who were hit by a bus, the victims of 9/11 attacks cancer patients, etc b/c everyone's heart stops, which stops blood flow to the brain and organs, leading to death. But this is not a "myocardial infarction" which is the true medical term for "heart attack."

    • @ilovebeinagirl
      @ilovebeinagirl 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      PS: If you personally ever go to ER for chest pains and a suspected "heart attack" (myocardial infarction.) there are 2 things that might raise suspicion that would be easy to request as a patient. 1. Ask them to check your blood pressure in both arms. There will be a difference in aortic dissction. 2. ask them to do a D-dimer blood test on you. If normal, it's definitely not a dissection. if abnormal, it could be but still might not be.
      There are better, conclusive tests that can be done but they probably won't unless they have a high index of suspicion. These two things will at least point them in that direction.
