Satguru's purport on Lord Shiva burning demigod of lust, Kama deva opening His third eye could be correct in yogic perception. But according to Shrimad Bhagavatam scriptures, Kama deva tried to put Lord Shiva in lust by firing a flower arrow to His heart, so that He will have a union with mother Sati and have a son. Because it was prophesy that lord Shiva's son will bring victory to demigods in long ongoing war of demigods and demons. But his approach was wrong and he was punished. Later kama deva got his physical body when he took birth as son on supreme lord Krishna. Lord Shiva later mercifully gave birth to a son Kartikeya who defeated demons and brought victory to demigods. Till kartikeya was born, king muchukunda took charge as commander of demigods and faught for many years in heavens. Because time scale in heavens is 1 day of heavens is equal to 1 year in earth due to relativity, by the time muchukunda returned to earth, all his friends and relatives are already dead long back. Finally he meets Krishna on earth and was delivered.
