Hinata WITH Kageyama in A tier is fair. I agree with that actually. But personally I think that he himself, as a player, not "buffed" with the presence of Kageyama, is NOT higher than C tier in season 1. But that's just my opinion, and I'm purely some guy who doesn't have experience playing the sport lmao.

I agreee with your opinion, though i also don't have any sports experience, i m just comparing hinata with all the other characters in the show. Hinata is athletic and has high vertical..but that's it. I can respect his dedication to the sport, but solely on skills he is just better than an average person who hasn't played volleyball. Somewhere around C

i would agree but even with Suga he is a very good player. With that stance you would also have to drop Kenma because he also is completely reliant on the godly receiving of Nekoma.
@@thomasfranklin2324 Good point, however Kenma has good volleyball IQ, and sets up the team's strategy i.e. "Brain&Heart" of the team, while his players are the 'muscle', that was the analogy right i forgot? I think Nekoma won't function as well, if we say, Suga was their setter, or i might stretch it and say even with kageyama as their setter (they win through smarts and attrition but Kageyama style is to win through sheer power and speed with his hitters).
So agree with your point Kenma is reliant on Nekoma, but Nekoma is also reliant Kenma. Its a beautiful full circle i can cry :)

its crazy how you remember all these things. Hope this keeps up. There are a lot of little scenes that are often overlooked like the quality of Iwaizumi's digs, but you did a really great job at remembering these little contributions of every player. Please keep this up for the next seasons!
actually the most amazing thing about it's that you remembered the names of almost all the characters from the first time watching the show... I give you so much credits for this it's insane! I'm not sure I even remembered the names of the Karasuno players when I watched it for the first time😂😂😂
And I love how much respect Iwaizumi and Oikawa got (I would make the S+ tier just for Oikawa he's too good)

for me, i think nekoma coach is way more better than any coach for S1
since as you can see he can make "normal" talented player par with national player and make karasuno 0 win against them, the 1st person know how to counter "kageyama hinata combo"

I understand why you put Yamaguchi in D tier but it did make me sad. Thank you for reminding us that it was only based on play seen and not personality. LOL I hope you watched Sara and Adams full video the discussion was interesting. I do love that your commentary is different than most and I think it is interesting to see the different dynamics that you all seek.

Yeah. I probably would have taken Tanaka over Hinata as sub S1. Because unless you're subbing in him AND Kageyama he can't do shit. But Tanaka is still solid. He's not quite as much of a power hitter as our Ace, but he's got better defense and he's UNBREAKABLE.
Ok , finally found someone who properly ranks. Like the overlook on oikawa just because they hate him for no legit reason (people forget he is a highschooler), Yaku is so underappreciated ,so is iwazumi. Tsukki is my top 4 characters and i agree how you ranked for this season on just play wise ( he is the main reason i cheer for karasuno along with noya)
It's really hard deciding since I've watched the whole show and know what they become. But my S1 dreamteam would be
S: Oikawa
MB: Aone, Kuroo
W: Iwaizumi, Kageyama
OP: Daichi
LB: Yaku
Subs: Asahi, Tora, Nishinoya
Can't wait for you to meet more characters to do this with and when I'll be able to comment my ACTUAL dream team after S4 haha
Seeing my boys tsukki and Kuroo at D and A tier hurts my soul but i do get why he put him there. Maybe you can update these tier list after each season. See how it stacks up.

Maybe I've just seen more, but Kenma is an S-tier setter for me. Especially after watching the Battle of the Garbage Dump movie??? Major goosebumps at just how good he is.
I totally agree with your team choice. That team would be incredible and would definitely go to nationals. Remember that Sarah and Adam have watched almost every season.

The shade thrown at the Dateko libero 😂 "he has good vocal cords I guess" was a top tier dig (pardon the pun). But I don't understand your reasoning for putting the other Seijoh middle into C "can't put him in D cause he's in Seijoh" meanwhile there are two other Seijoh players sitting in D 😅 oh btw Aone is pronounced ow-neh and Kuroo is pronounced coo-row. Also would love to see a reaction video to Sarah and Adam's video! Even just after the fact. They did 2 drafts, first based solely on individual skill then second based on team cohesion and everything. And then I believe they ended with Adam picking his season 1 all star team which I'm pretty sure was the same as Sarah's so that's probably the one you should be comparing to yours.
I love having a clear strength to build so with only the first season characters I'd love to make the idealized Date Tech, because their highs are very high but they just had too many holes to be a national level team at this point. I also think it's more 'realistic' in a sense, because you take some lower ranked players who might fit together, rather than making an allstar team. I'd also LOVE to run a 4-2 with the personnel we have available.
Aone, Kamasaki - Middle
Futakuchi, Iwaizumi - Outside
Oikawa, Kunimi - Setters
Maki - Libero
3 date tech players and 4 seijoh ones, Can obviously replace some but wanted to keep it balanced or realistic. I'd start with Aone and Kamasaki as my middle blockers. Futakuchi is one of my outsides, and the three of them are why date's defense is so good. If I had enough 'points' I'd love to take Oikawa and Iwaizumi. That gives us two of the best receiving outsides in futakuchi and iwaizumi, the date tech blocking, and most importantly 4! jump servers. This team is a serve and block MONSTER. If only Aone had a jump serve >.

From what I can infer up to this point of the video is that your A-Team is Shimizu (Manager), Nobuteru Irihata (Seijoh's coach as your A-team's coach), Noya (Libero), Iwaizumi (Wing Spiker), Daichi (Opposite), Aone (Middle), Oikawa (Setter/All-Rounder), Kageyama (Middle/Setter), Yaku (Setter).
Pretty dangerous to be on the opposing team because your team will have a setter up front per rotation.
@59:07 My conclusion is aligned with your all-stars up until Oikawa. Didn't expect you to put Yaku and Kageyama in the reserves but I'd say that Kageyama is better in the starting position than Asahi. 😊

for season 1 i agree with pretty much most of your list. but i would put iwaizumi and daichi in A, suga in B, and hinata in probably C (or maybe even D) if we are talking about him on the team without kageyama

I actually think that Adam team was extremely well balanced, while Sarah's had way more raw talent(oikawa setter and kags opposite was kind of busted) but im not sure sarah's team would perform that well. They were close in my opinion. About your ultimate team i think is fine. I personally prefer yaku over noya, but is something debatable even after all 4 seasons, just personal preference, noya is more flashy and yaku has better positional awareness and better at overhand passes. Asahi is an outside, daichi is the opposite. About the tierlist there is no way you are going to make it fit next time😂 you should add a couple of tiers. Maybe an SS and a SSS solve the problem.

Yo People need to CHEEEEL, Lachy is basing it off on Season1, i know a lot of these players pop off in future season, but don't let your bias for watching the whole show or read the manga mess with your brain. This is a solid season 1-based tier list.
However, no cap hinata, just my opinion and i dont want to bash your opinion Lachy but Hinata is not even close to A tier. You sir are a volleyball club player (me too!). He can't pass, he can't set, he can't serve, his block technique aint perfect (its aiight), he loses most if not all Jousts (which is important for MB) and he swings most of his balls with his eyes closed.
In real life brother, would you even put him on the court!? It's an actual miracle that any team would let him play, especially as a 1st year. Most coaches would let him practice in the club, but would not give him the time of day in real games. I understand he has drive/hunger, fire, heart... (and extreme athleticism due to his bike rides to school every day), and he has a crazy POTENTIAL but the "now" in "season 1" is a nah bro. Literally any of those tall Date Tech front lines you would rather put in the court than Hinata and you put most in B tier. Even Kindaichi who out jousted, out blocked was way more useful than hinata. Kageyama's talent just carries Hinata to become 'alright/useable' but by his own strenth, haaaaaaylll noooo.

I think that Hinata at this point is pretty mediocre.
Maybe a B tier or C tier.
Yes, for sure he is athletic and a great asset when combined with a genius setter but on his own, I would say B at best. A huge part of his character development was when he realized that he needed to work on his skills outside of being decoy/someone who relied so heavily on a setter and there are many other "moves" he needs to practice to become a power on the court.
