I have a lot of neurosis around food because I was raised by a grandmother who couldn't cook to save her life but would never let me try. I'm always super reluctant to try new foods as a result, but your videos are legitimately why I've started trying new things, because you make all these new foods actually look good, and I've never encountered anyone else who has been able to do that.

@Grzesiol so if someone who's not homeless that dresses grungy for their own style will they be kicked out? Some homeless people don't look homeless. And some people who aren't homeless act worse than people who are homeless.

@Datscrazi231 yeah it does suck. Homeless people are still people. Some are jerks but some are awesome, just like people who aren't homeless.

We lived in Singapore in the 1970's and instant noodles were only just coming in then. When we got back to New Zealand we had to get them from the Chinese specialty shops, but our local Chinese fruit and vege shop started selling them because we asked for them. I still love them - had some for lunch today.

I like how Singaporeans are respectfully calling instant noodles as instant noodles, not ramen. Unlike most food influencers who can't tell the difference between ramen and instant noodles

The amount of plastic used in food preparation in East Asia is excessive. Obviously instant foodstuff is very popular with the populations but the packaging needs to be managed responsibly. It’s of little wonder that pollution is rife in poorer areas with illegal dumping and rivers being obstructed. We in the West are no saints when it comes to our ‘cheap’ plastic use and subsequent careless disposal but, at the present time, we don’t have the same desire to use these types of convenience food retailers or visit self service automated kiosks - however, I wouldn’t be surprised if that changes. Where there is a profit to be made then conservation goes out the window…..

  • @tagbon

My only complaint about Buldak is that sometimes you can’t taste the good flavor over the heat. I like to use less of the spicy packet just so I can taste the great flavor (and save the rest to put in spaghetti or chili).

...I always wonder this when I see these kinds of comments. What are you doing? Seriously. What are you doing to mitigate plastic use? Not only your own, but other people's too. And I ask specifically about other people, because you decided to comment on other people, even though, I suspect you haven't thought through why they use plastic, might actually need to use plastic, or any number of other reasons that they use plastic.
It's very easy to point at something and say, that's bad stop doing that. It's much harder to figure out why people are doing it and then figure out a way to help them stop doing that.

Even though Maggie originates from New Zealand. The products they released are different from other branches around the world to fit each country tongue. Maggie Malaysia has curry, kampung, chili, tomyum, asam laksa, chicken and many more that I can't remember.

I didn't know Buldak was Korean, I get them all the time here in Canada, they're one of my favorite, the other brand I get a lot of is Indo Mie Mi Goreng Special, I usually make them with ground beef, and LOTS of ground garlic & ginger, and Japanese dark roasted Sesame oil (instead of the oil pack)

I´d go there just for the veggie toppings, the half-boiled eggs and the ice-cream, but damn I want that in Germany, too.

Luckily this store has employees for checkout, if not the store would be a target for dine and dash people. Unmanned store only works in Japan/Korea.

A place like this in the U.S. would cost triple, couldn't be open 24 hrs a day, and would probably need security. 😕
