- I went to a yard sale in the mountains yesterday morning and came home with a collection of sports cards ranging from the 1970s-early 2000's. I was pretty surprised with the cards I found!

Dominik Hasek is in that 91 hockey set, I think Nick Lidstrom might be in there too

You will be lucky to get 1/2 of your money back. You didn’t really get ripped off because you had fun going through them. More sentimental value than anything.
That is considering the condition of these cards too because they look pretty rough but if you don’t buy the lots you don’t find the gems I’d say best card in the whole lot worth maybe 6 bucks

You got a really good deal on the collection, and I feel it was definitely worth $80. I'm guessing the collection was worth $200 or more.

I know I'm crazy when I'm more into organizing that many cards than actually seeing if theyre worth anything.
I have a huge unsorted collection that I'm currently going through for that reason. I don't care about a card's value, I enjoy collecting and looking at what I have.
@LinkRocks Same, I love looking at the various basketball cards I collected a kid and reminiscing on the memories of the card and the player.
That Upper Deck set was a Mc Donald's set that you. The Upper Deck logo is the shape of the Mc Donald's Gold Arches. You could have gotten them at the time from Mc D's. My step father worked at Mc D's at that time and brought me the cards, so I had the complete set. And you can buy the complete set as well, Upper Deck did do a factory set for them.
I had alot of them.even though I didn't go to McDonald's unlike other oddballs I got from companies.
I just got a lucky collection on FB Marketplace! I feel ya when you get a deal you can't refuse. Sweet finds
Every one of these types of finds has McDonalds UD basketball. They must’ve printed infinity of those.
Piazza and mark grace are the big ones out of 92 fleer. It was acually a rare set.

$80 you really can't get hurt. Very few activities, that bring you joy, cost $80. I'm sure you will easily make you money back especially if the sets are complete.
About $25 in total value, and now you have a huge lot of junk cards, boxes and totes to get rid of. I have boxes of this stuff and have tried to give it away, and no one will take it.
Definitely a deal even had some McDonald’s upper deck mixed in there. The ‘87 Bonds looked great
those "special set" basketball cards with the Dominique Wilkins you have showing were cards that were distributed through McDonalds in the early 90s

I had a lot of those but those I never went to Micky D's to get unlike other oddball sets

The 1990-91 Pro Set Soccer have rookie cards of Alan Shearer (All time Premier League Top Scorer), Roy Keane (Manchester United legend) and Ian Wright (Arsenal legend)! Good luck!
Upperdeck McDonald's basketball. The entertainment value of that many cards is worth $80. Maybe there's a Montana or monk rookie in the 81 topps football.

I found a giant lot of about 2000 cards at flea market. Guy wanted 8 I got them for 5. Had montana rookie, monk rookie,ozzie Newsome rookie, many 2nd , 3rd ,4th year cards of pistol pete, dr.j, robert Parrish, tiny Nate Archibald rookie and a walter Payton rookie. Paid pennies a piece for each card. 2nd best ballcard find of my life besides a jordan collection I paid $60.00 for and had almost 800 Jordan's! 88 fleet, tons of 90s inserts, finestrefractory, I couldn't believe it. Good buy though some nice cards.,

Those baseball cards are all in my personal collection. My goal is to acquire more true vintage cards this year (50's, 60's & early 70's). I will sacrifice the condition of cards for the cards themselves.

If that's what I think, the pro set soccer packs are English League and you can get a card of Vinnie Jones who played in the league and later went on to act in, among other movies, Snatch and Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.
I didn't know that and will now spend the next half hour or so listening to some. I don't know if I want it to be great or awful.

Some of those 90 Donruss with no . After the inc on back are selling for lots on eBay check your cards out for the error esp. the Griffey jr

Thanks for the look! The Upper Deck basketball "set" was a 92-93 McDonalds set. You may note the McDonalds arched 'M' in the hologram on the back of the card. Look for Shaq's rookie.

I have felt the pain of this I had the coleco vision console and had like 200 dollars worth the games and all the add on's and I had it put away. My wife found it and sold it all for 15 dollars this was back in the 80's but to say the least I was not happy.
The upper deck basketball you weren't sure about is the McDonald's version. The hologram one the back is the McDonald's logo

The HHOF RCs in 1991-92 Score are Lidstrom and Hasek. Amonte, Leclair and Konstantinov are other decent RCs from that year.
I believe the UD basketball was issued by McDonald's restaurants i think the hologram on the back of card is in the shape of a M

I think most of us would have jumped on that lot as well. It may have been exhausting going through all of it and separating all those singles, but what fun. Great price!

Looks like a decent pickup. My biggest concern at buying up huge lots like these is storage and personal preference in collecting. I'm not sure what your storage situation looks like, but you seem to have a way to move these cards without issue. Of course, I love the vintage stuff. The 70s and some 60s baseball were my favorite from your pickup.
The basketball set from upper deck is the McDonald's set they released. Those are worth some money bud!
Definitely the McDonald's cards. Not worth too much, the Jordan sells for a few bucks on eBay

Great time looking through random cards looking for treasures...any Michael Jordan card is awesome...loved all the Nolan Ryan cards..PC Nolan Ryan...been collecting since 1989- 1999 went to college...now my son age 10 is really into mostly baseball cards...but got back into...love your channel!!! Ahh the single screwdowns. Remember digging that little screw out of the carpet? Man i bought alot of those to replace the 4screws only to then be replaced by the 1touch. Probably should've spent my money on higher end packs instead. Congrats on the Yaz man. Looking forward to seeing it.

People sell "vintage" cards on Ebay but what they're selling are junk wax era cards . The real definition of vintage is from the 50s to the 70s!

Them basketball cards are macdonalds cards the hologram on the back is the McDonald's M with upperdeck written in it.

What’s a comfortable price to pay for common or base Griffey jrs?
Just all depends on which set they’re from. A lot of base Griffey’s you should be able to find in quarter boxes at card shows
