    Okay so now we're going to speak about pressure points in self defense scenarios.
    Like first, I would like to clarify that there are a lot of pressure points Okay? The word pressure points suggests that you have to press it but not all of them you are going to press, you can hit something and you can actually rub those points, so it's not only against pressure, Okay? That's very important.
    The second important thing that you need to know is that there are like, these things how to press some points and knock some out. In reality that's probably not going to happen because you have to be very precise.
    So what I'm going to do is I'm going to explain to you today, three points, three basic points where you can use them in self defense as targets by hitting them, by rubbing them or even pressing them, Okay? So, I'm going to face Mariposa, so the first pressure point that we are going to locate is very easy, when she flexes her arm, we see the line of flection, Okay?
    We're going to measure on the inside, three fingers, Okay, three fingers from the inside, and we're going to do the fourth one, the pressure point, Okay? So again, three points and the fourth is going to be the pressure point. So, you are going to press and look at her face, that's how she will react normally, Okay?
    So again, you can use it, not only by pressing the point, just imagine that you're going to grab me, this is a real situation, she's threatening me, she's pushing me away so what I'm going to do is I'm going to grab and I'm going to let it go, Okay? Again, press the point and let it go. I'm not only going to use by pressing, I can also use this by punching this part, very easy.
    Imagine that she's going to punch me, I redirect and at the same time I punch that spot, Okay? That's very important that you know that not only can be pressed but it can be hit or even, what I was saying, it can be rubbed, you rub the point, Okay and it caused more pain, Okay? Very important, careful when you're practicing with your partner, Okay?
    So the second point that we're going to see today is going to be located on the knee, Okay? We're going to see the knee cap, we're going to go from the inside, four fingers up and now we're going to press to that side, Okay? Okay, that's what we're going to get, Okay? So again, the pressure has to come to this direction, very important, not down, not up, just this direction, Okay? Exactly, Okay? We can use this by kicking, put one foot in the front, like this, Okay, boom, kicking that, Okay? We, that is how or we can even use our knee, very useful, here boom, devastated Okay? That's another pressure point.
    And the third one, Okay? We're going to go again to the leg but this time we're going to go above the ankle, so what we're going to do is we're going to locate it and then we're going to go four fingers up and then we're going to use the fifth as a point, Okay, and we're going to press. That's exactly how we're going to feel, Okay? So again, you can do the pressure, you can actually rub it, Okay and in this case, you can also kick that spot, Okay? It's actually a good target to hit, Okay? Very important, you can hit this, Okay? You can hit this or you can hit this one, Okay? You can hit all of them, not only press them, Okay?
    And that's how you normally use pressure points in a real scenario.

    Alright. Too many views and too many green thumbs. This will not work and here´s why:
    1. You need GREAT precision to hit those point correctly.
    2.If you DO hit them it WILL cause pain but it wont knock you attacker out which will make him more angry
    3. You dont think as much when you are attacked. You wont remember "ah I have to hit 3 fingers up the elbow to cause him pain in the bicep." -No
    4. If you are being robbed... give your money if you don't know exactly what to do and had extensive training. Anything else would be simply putting you life in danger.
    5. Pressure points do not work the same for every person. If your attacker squats regularly or trains or jogs he will be less sensitive in those spots as he will have more muscle mass to protect the nerves.
    6. This guy forgot striking rule number one in self defense: Always hit the groin first. Even if your opponent is a woman. A good hit to the balls will leave them exposed for a loooong time
    There are even more reasons but these are in my opinion the most important ones. Be careful who you learn from.

      Dont bother unless you have a goddam brick or bowling-ball up in there. You are doing that in hope of hitting the guy n the temple? Nah... no KO. That would either make it easier for him to rob your purse or make him even angrier. Dont bother. Just kick him in the nuts. Dont do fancy stuff. Its your survival we are talking about.

    • @quickshadow1474
      @quickshadow1474 5 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      olivator1000 the point of these is not to knock out the aggressor it is to weaken him giving you time to escape, self defense is not about getting into a fight it is about looking to get out of one.

    Majority of all pressure points rely on pain. It's a "Dojo Trick" that does not exist in real life. On the mat pressure points will make you tap out and release holds. When someone steps between you and your kids you fight through it. People can still have the "will" to fight after the body is broken. It's better to ignore these tricks, and learn to break structure and balance. Any seasoned fighter or combative will tell you they don't train to deter, they train to overcome and defeat.

    • @eddyvideostar
      @eddyvideostar 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Semper Fi Strength of character is the most important. One has to weigh and mitigate circumstances. One cannot go all out regarding something where there is a shred of possibility that another aspect could be utilized. The hardest thing in life is to possess the ability to back out, back away or even run from possible combat knowing that, at least, ones body can heal, but his pride my not.
      Yes - One must protect his family and kids, however, when one had done what he can do to disable the attacker, his being down, would not continue to mash him further or beat him to death. Martial arts is not to be used in a vengeful state of mind.

    I believe he means that not all people are as susceptible to pressure points I.e they might feel a bit of discomfort but nothing too overwhelming to cause such an intense reaction of pain, or maybe none at all. I have can say from my experience this is the case, I have used the same pressure point on two people; the median nerve of the forearm just above the wrist. One of them just looked at me said it was uncomfortable but tolerable. The other recoiled in pain and pulled his arm away.

    Well the start was good; "Those wont work in that way.." and I was expecting something really useful and then it went to "...measure these 3 fingers from the curve of the..." aaaaaaand its bullshido all over the place.
    Heres the thing: If you have the skill to hit/kick with accuracy to the painful points of the body, you can use that ability to punch/kick somebody unconsius or make their feet go limb! BOOM! WOW! MIND BLOWN! And it goes also otherway around: if you dont have the skill to land a punch/kick, theres a one-in-a-billion-chance youre gonna land that nerve-shocking-kamehamehaa...
    And these have been tested. Youre opponent is probably going to be irritated and angry (maybe confused..) from poking and rubbing his arms..but sure as hell youre opponent will be able to fight you after those :D

There were virtually five million acts of violence reported in the United States last year which included ladies twelve years old and older. 3 quarters of women who were attacked while by themselves and half of the women assaulted by numerous assailants were attacked by individuals that they understood.

    An actual place u can hit is the inside of the lower arm like right above the wrist and u gotta hit em hard there it’ll cause pain that will be relatively painful at first then it’ll just have a lasting effect for about 10 minutes of minor pain it’s part of a martial art called kyusho jitsu

    "This is a real situation, she is threatening me, she is pushing me away"
    *gently moves her hand from a point where she can actually push him away, to hes wrist where pushing accomplishes nothing*
    People who practice martial arts where there is no sparring involved have no idea that even breaking someone finger, wrist, rib or other smaller bones do not necessarily slow down the attacker who is high on adrenaline (and in most random street violence incidents, other substances as well). This might work in your mystical dojo where your training partner doesn't feel the need to just bite hes teeth and take the pain. If you do this when someone attacks you for real, they will just knock you out and possibly keep soccer kicking your head while your unconscious because you annoyed them with your pinches.
    If you are getting attacked by your drunken girlfriend who is half your size and weight, yeah they work just fine.
