Also teared up when I heard it adopted as "Star Trek: Picard" Season 3 theme. It is closely reflect the legacy of Capt Jean-Luc Picard and the crew of Enterprise-D.
I actually shed a tear at the rendition of Blue Skies by Isa Briones. That was totally live, and real, and I felt it so deeply. I think the DS9 theme was my second favorite of this performance. So majestic. Very cool that Jeff Russo conducted it all!! As someone pointed out, the lack of acoustics of a hall can be heard… and knowing very well this scenario, I give extra kudos to the musicians who were doing this gig! That must not have been easy! But I’ll close this comment with all my admiration going to Isa Briones! That was so meaningful for many reasons.
Playing "Blue Skies" at the beginning of Star Trek:Nemesis was very appropriate since this was right after the Great Dominion War and "Blue Skies" was written right after WW II and expressed the optimize of a triumphant post-War America.

@@TheVFXbyArt By far one of the best themes overall yes but general seen as just a movie theme however out of the tv shows Voyager beats the rest (Picard S3 would be 2nd for me just 'cause it has TNG + First Contact combo)
Considering Voyager's theme was written by Jerry Goldsmith, it ougt to be amazing, always loved it since I first heard it back in the 90s as a kid... :)
For you, I gotta do this... "Space... The Final Frontier. These are the voyages of the Starship Enterprise. It's continuous mission: to explore strange new worlds. To seek out new life, and new civilizations. To boldly go where no man... where no one has gone before."
This just gives me nostalgia especially the 2009 movie theme when Kirk arrives at the enterprise for the first time and when it leaves space dock and most importantly the TOS theme
From the trouble the brass players are having, it sounds like it was cold outside that morning. I played trumpet in high school, and I would always have more trouble maintaining my tones in colder weather. Still, a wonderful job with the performance.
First Contact and Voyager... Those themes always give me chills. I know I'm in the minority, but I love Sta Trek V's song The Moon's a Window To Heaven !
A wonderful performance! Great cruising music for my own starship. Voyager's theme always moves me. Captain Kirk on clarinet, at three forty two. 🖖LLAP!
I always love to see live performances, but whoever was calling these shots and the camera folk.... there are specific solos in each of these pieces... if there's an amazing trumpet or f horn playing their hearts out, I don't want to see a violin simply playing a long note. This music is iconic - it's not like you don't know these notes will be hit and who is going to be playing them. Feature the action... or as my favorite directors used to call it "Come on, Camera 2!!! TREAT ME!!!!" I do love seeing this. Not having the opportunity to attend in person, I appreciate this video.
Dachte zuerst: Oh, etwas dünner klang, wie von einem Schulorchester, aber im Freien ist das kein Wunder, dass die Akustik so rüberkommt, aber ansonsten einfach hammergeil!!!
I don't mind the "dry" sound at all, but that's just my preference. Whack a bit of hall reverb & eq on this and I bet people would be saying how fantastic the performance is. I thought the interpretation was outstanding personally; I suppose people just expect a certain acoustic from an orchestra, and it feels "off" if it's missing.
Keep in mind that it wouldn't have sounded anything like this live. What you're hearing in the video is what they picked up with the microphones on the stage and mixed together, which is not what the live audience would have heard at all.
more to do with the miccing. I mean I'm sure the live acoustic wasn't amazing either, being outside, but still it makes no difference to our experience here; they're really close micced and we're getting the "desk" feed, no "room" added. You can't really hear what the audience hears, just an artificially clear composite of a bunch of close mics, which means the strings in particular don't get to have that "pad" from phasing effects and smooshed attacks that real life acoustics give them (which is what makes large string sections irl sound so great). To oversimplify a little, instead of hearing a "violin section" for instance, we're more hearing 11 individual vioinists, which (perhaps surprisingly) sounds quite different to a listener.
@@gn0me420 because it was a song written by an artist that stands alone from the show if I’m not mistaken. All other themes were written “in house” specifically for the shows that they were on. While most people sing praises of TNG, Voyager and DS9, I've found myself deeply attached to the TOS Theme, it just makes me feel everything will end up alright by the end.
Gosh... Voyager. The melody is so haunting and beautiful. Will always love it the most!
Voyager is like an old friend I watched every single episode first run.
For me it has always been the TNG theme, its so rousing and uplifting truly like its saying "to boldly go where no man has gone before"
Bloody split infinitives! 🤣
I find myself calling it "the Starfleet March" some days.
The DS9 theme never fails to put a smile on my face.
Or tears too, especially the version from what you leave behind
In my opinion the best Series and the best theme
DS9, the best Trek series of all time.
Always frustrated me I couldn't find the beat, so being able to know where the beat is now has put peace in my heart >
Yes. It's stunning and so "mighty". Like a siren for a god.
Voyager and First Contact always get me 💪🏼
The French Horn is such an amazing instrument, and so important in Star Trek music!
you gotta love those french horns , in fact all instruments , the artists are amazing
The horns on the Voyager theme…strong low end! And overall, I love the horn section!
God the First Contact theme hits me hard! It's so beautiful
I think by far this theme by Jerry Goldsmith is one of the most beautiful melodies I have ever heard
Also teared up when I heard it adopted as "Star Trek: Picard" Season 3 theme. It is closely reflect the legacy of Capt Jean-Luc Picard and the crew of Enterprise-D.

The famous words where no man has gone before , I will always treasure this song or music in my heart forever , Spock my hero .....
HOLY S**T. From opening note, I got an overwhelming wave of emotion.
"Blue Skies" gets me now. This is when Data truly ceases to exist.
If you haven't heard the backstory to how Isa (Soji) ended up singing it...

I don‘t know why but the voyager theme is just the most amazing of them all. Chills all the time
It really gives the vibe of "We're lost, we're alone, but we're together and we're gonna get home"

deep space and voyager you blew me away soooo very ...

Agreed
@Lemonskunk: Nazis like you are not welcome. Fuck off.
I agree I don't know why everyone hates on it it's so good
love the picard one just for the last few seconds of it. TNG forever.
Deep Space Nine,. I have always loved this one. Majestic.
First contact.. I remember it at the cinema. I watched it there 3 times.. so great!
DS9 & Voyager will always be in my heart ❤️ ❤😭😭
First Contact brings me to tears every time. It captures the hopeful feeling of the story perfectly.
Deep Space Nine! Wow!
Love me that theme from first contact, beautiful 😊
Damn and the Picard theme, and the TNG theme… let’s be honest, ST is just beautifully composed. Apart from that Rod Stewart atrocity 😂
First contact best theme ever!
Thank you for posting! Very enjoyable.
deep space 9 - wonderful
That horn solo is one of my all time favorites.
TOS and TNG themes = goosebumps. my whole childhood❤

It was a song written by an outside composer and performer.? Must have been a rights issue.
They played Archer's Theme but his video leaves it out ☹️

Ooh, a couple of intonation issues for the TNG theme, but not so bad. And the string parts on that are pretty damn hard

Fairly solid rendition. The acousitcs aren't great though. Too much sound is being muted by the surround. It's not being projected well.
The tempo is too fast as well.
I just found this video and listened the music with JBL E55BT headphones. For a small orchestra, the music is fantastic! Where was this concert?
beautiful

Yoooooo where is the ENT theme at, thats what i was looking for!

Well done. But:
You should play this set in a opera or a theater. The sound would be much better.
