This is spot on. Keith Morrison gives off the strangest vibe. Hardest thing to explain or impersonate. And that's why Bill is genius.
The last joke about him seeing a drowned clown as a child got the weirdest reaction. Audience was either too creeped out or too confused. But it's actually a pretty brilliantly hillarious and almost plausable explanation of Keith Morrisons odd creepy demeanor on that show.
The floating clown was an interesting take because he does do this weird lingering cliffhanger final words in the show.
I thought it was a reference to "It", where the creepy clown says "We all float down here".
I call him, "Creepy Morrison", but I'm still integed by his narration style.

My mom and I have been doing Keith impressions for YEARS, and I couldn't understand how NOBODY ever took him on! His little, "Or...was it???" gets us every freakin time! Whenever it cuts back to him, nodding when people are giving interviews, we lose it. I'm so glad Hader started doing this, because he was the perfect one to do it.
Not sure if you've heard of Donal McIntyre. He's from the UK and usually squeezes in at least one 'Moouaardarrr'' in every episode.

You can't watch dateline without laughing after his impression. It's so spot on
Honestly I think Keith Morrison has leaned into the caricature since this aired. I watched an episode from a year or two ago where he actually said, “A person who didn’t know their close friend was a murderer… where have we heard THAT before?” I had to pause it and laugh for almost a minute.
Bill Haders Dateline parody is by far my favorite SNL sketch he's ever been in. Pure gold. Gets me every single time.

Hader deserves an Oscar or Emmy for holding it together after the "beautiful" Martha finishes the term "dump hole." That level of self control is other-wordly.

If you are paying attention you will know that Diego didn't commit the murder. The coroner says the victim was bludgeoned to death before being dismembered; Diego describes the dismemberment as the means of killing.

I was eating an orange while I was watching this and when it got to "Ga ga ooh ra ra" I laughed so hard that a segment of orange went down the wrong pipe and I started to choke and I had a coughing fit last for a full minute. Then I recovered myself, resumed eating the orange, rewound the clip and when it got back to go "Ga ga ooh ra ra" the whole incident repeated itself.

eLi FILMS Bill broke character a ton, actually, but no where near the epic crashes of Jimmy Fallon. That being said, hosting the Tonight Show has made Jimmy oddly much better at sketch comedy. He's hosted SNL at least twice since becoming Tonight Show host, and hasn't broken character even once
