One feedback, always loop the bungee through the bags handle or if it has existing loops. This will eliminate any risk of the luggage moving, especially during turns / sudden braking. Ride safe
Your luggage is safely tied up, till it meets any potholes and then it'll be thrown and then repeat the process again and again till you reach your destination ❤️
Ofcourse NOT a wrong method. BUT in our India roads don't encourage this kind of tie methods 😂, as personally travel a lot, suggest to buy strong nylon rope and tie vertical and horizontal directions to get tight your luggage. These bungee cords or something doesn't work for me, when I travel I travel with a lot of luggage, so these doesn't give enough grip for me.
I don't agree. Never bungee through the grips or handles. it's dangerous doing it that way as you can end with the bag banging against the back wheel if it slips off. Happened to me once, almost dropped the bike. Of course luggage bouncing on the highway isn't so great either but to me it's marginally less risky.
I used a Laddakhi pannier , and carried 60 + kilos with a pillion . I realised i am a nut when i hit the mountain slippery broken twisties in North East . However my 500 standard was doing its job like a draft horse !! 🤘
Bungee cords are from 100 years ago. They were used in Piper Cub landing gear as springs. They are dangerous! Bungees are always too long or too short. Plus bungees have those handy eye-removing hooks! Rok Straps are from this century, are fully adjustable and don’t damage the paint where they attach to the bike!
Don't ever tie your bag like this. Always loop the cord under any anchoring point on your bag (like handle, straps etc.). I personally prefer straps (non-elastic) over bungees.
Please loop the bungees under the strap of the bag to secure it and prevent it from slipping through. Always use 2 bungee cords or better still, saddle bags. Ride safe. God bless you.
Obviously this guy has never gone on a long trip on a bullet with luggage tied behind because all the three methods are completely wrong and your luggage won't stay on for more than a few kms!
I have used the DirtMax 20 on my new Classic 350. It stays fairly secure over rough roads. You do have to tighten the straps every so often. I think it is more stable than using bungees. ROK straps are a better option.
The recommended tire pressure for front tire for solo is 20 psi while with a pillion is 22 psi as per user manual not 30 and 32 psi as you showed in video.
@@glynedwards4948 But in my mannual in page 36 its showing For solo 20 PSI in front tyre and 30 PSI for rear and With pillion 22 PSI for front 32 PSI for Rear.
Very confusing 🤷🏻♂️, different manuals with different tyre pressures ? There’s also a sticker on the bike rear stays showing 32/36 for pillion. 32/32 Solo ?
What about the sides of the luggage bag? There may be sideways movement on rough terrain. Also, as @ronaj points out - through the luggage handles and loops.
I received my Classic 350 on 19th January. It was custom built. After watching this video i realised that the side handles are on both sides. And it's missing on one side of my bike. What shall I do?
Royal enfield should provide a top box as official accessories for classic and Himalayan. I don't get it why they don't offer that as an accessory. At present they only have a hard luggage carrier as a pannier.
Booked the Chrome red edition a month ago on the launch date and still not getting any positive reply for the delivery from your side...thanku Royal Enfield 😊
Hi Vanshit, This isn’t something we’d want you to experience. Could you please share your contact details with us? We have a team ready to resolve this issue. Thank You.
@Nashban exactly, it is lower centre of gravity and will stay put and not move around. Afterwards I thought it must be an error as I saw the Himalayan can take 7kg on the rack.
Better to provide bike parts first. Last year i purchased classic 350 pure black EFI. It's battery not working after 14 months. Neither that battery is in market nor in agency. Don't know when i will be getting the same.
Can somebody help me with the right air pressure? Is it 22/32 or 30/35 or as said in the video, 32/38? I have a classic 350 BS6 with tubeless tyres. And i ride solo and with pillion.
Aww, come on guys! Seriously? Bungee cords is your luggage solution? I surely hope you’re planning something better than that for such an otherwise great bike. Here’s an idea! How about a slight modification to the pannier racks, panniers, and rear luggage rack that’s been available for the older Classic for years? That was/is a great setup. AND, the styling is well suited to the old school look of the bike, while also being very functional. For this not familiar, check out Stuart Fillingham’s channel. He has a couple of really good videos on the OEM luggage setup on his Classic 500. The ability to add nice luggage will be a decision maker for me. I LOVE the bike, but unless nice luggage options become available I’m afraid it’ll be a no-go for me.
None of these mounting methods were remotely "safe", no wonder I've seen so many RE riders off late with ridiculous luggage mounting and constantly stopping and fixing. This is where it comes from! 🤣 TL;DR: Buy a pair of ROK Straps, or 2 pairs if you have a huge luggage bag; you'll thank me and yourself immediately! Mount the ROK Straps on your bike to any decent anchor point, put your luggage on the bike, guide the ROK straps from any looping hook, or MOLLE hook on your bag and tighten the ROK Straps and done! PS: If you don't have any loops, hooks or MOLLE on your bag -- your bag IS NOT SAFE FOR A BIKE, period, change your bag ASAP! No strapping mechanism will save it from shifting around. Also, after burning almost Rs.25,000(not kidding!) on various luggage bags, DIY tie-downs with bungies and what not -- I'm saying this with experience -- ROK Straps = simple, easy, efficient, secure & reliable mounting setup. ROK Straps are tried and tested world over. A good slightly cheaper alternative to ROK Straps is ViaTerra's new Quick Release Tie Down, similar to ROK Straps, but honestly for the price difference I'd just get the ROK Straps. I use them on my bike with these luggage bags and create a combo based on where I'm going and packing: ViaTerra POD22L, POD12L, Rynox Navigator 50L Tail Bag, Rynox Expedition 15L Dry Bag. One mounting mechanism across whatever combo -- simple, easy, effective; tried everything -- nothing beats ROK Straps, yet!
RE Servicing centers are worst then ever because I am facing alot of issues with mechanical team and management. Never ever care well about customers. They just need the ratings to show case how good quality of work we are tacking care of bikes. Request you to check the Vizag Sita Ram Motors.
Dear Royal Enfield plz upgrade your bike selling policy first,,why should people have to pay extra money for your own fault i.e. even after giving 90 days waiting period people get bike after 5-6 months amd have to pay that extra amount of increased money. If this policy stays long people will buy other option, as you, RE ,also know that your bikes sell for that emotional connection.

I'm using normal roaps for tie in my apache
Specially if you use the first method. One bungee cord does not provide enough gripping against lateral movement of the baggage.

I am quite surprised by this video, surely the bungees should be routed under the bag handle so the bag can't slip out sideways ?

Yes true. Once in same way i had tried my bag, it fell down midway, thanks to Autowala he came back just to return my bag.
