Fairly common thing that I've never made- banana bread. Kind of want to make some.
I LOVE these “back of the drawer” “using old products” videos! Yes please! Especially retired shadow pallets. Shadows last forever, so I would bet most of us have a bunch of old ones.
I do too. I periodically have to go thru and organize and throw away a bunch of expired products that make me sick because I totally forgot about it.
I routinely dig through my drawers and use all the things. The only time I'm sad is when something has been discontinued 😢. Great video!

I’ve found that when I go into Sephora nothing excites me anymore. For the past 2 years I’ve been shopping my stash and repurposing my makeup. Too- dark concealers are now shadow primers, matte liquid lipsticks are blush and eye shadows make great contour powders.
I’d love to see a video where you pick an old video (5+ years ago) and try to recreate the look with the same products. It would be so interesting to see how you feel about those products now. 😊

I find it very helpful to mix products, especially if it’s something that isn’t my proper shade or undertone or to make another product better, like mixing an illuminator or bronzer with a more matte foundation, mixing a serum or skin tint in with a thicker foundation, adding a foundation to my moisturizer to create my custom skin tint. Don’t forego mixing products or using a labeled product in other ways. Even adding skincare into your foundations, concealers, cream products to make less dry or flat. Be your own chemist! It’s lots of fun and you find amazing concoctions that you love.
I have terrible FOMO that I MUST get over. We are bombarded with all kinds of fascinating new products which we really don’t need. I recently tried using my older forgotten products and have been so pleasantly surprised/reminded of how great the products are. Thank you for this great advice!♥️♥️♥️
I'm doing a low-buy year, and to keep it interesting I put all of my eyeshadow palettes into a roulette wheel app, spin it before I do my makeup, and base my look around that. Could be a fun video idea to do a whole face by spinning a wheel

😊Perfect topic!!! I was just thinking how sad it is we all are forgetting /supposed to forget all the pretty formerly hyped make up we bought!! I have some proper old Tarte, UD, Too Faced and ABH palettes and I love them!!! I used my Naked 3 palette yesterday which is so gorgeous and an older Tarte holiday release today.
They're still perfectly good and it's a shame it's just sitting there because no one talks about it anymore. Make up that isn't used is just trash and money wasted!
I really feel like beauty content would be so much more interesting if people (myself included) were pulling out some of the older loves and making them "new" again!

I come for Emily, I stay for the kitty content!!! Love a good kitty cameo (even though for a while the creak of the door as they let themselves in gave me sucha fright!!!)
One idea I’ve seen is to have a small container nearby and every week or month, change out the items in it. The thought is to put forgotten items in there to get them into the rotation. As a creature of habit, I’m going to give it a try. 🙂
I do that. I keep out the colors of the week or look of the week in small containers and my joy on Saturday is rotating them. Keeps week days easier.

How many of you are the type to not use your good expensive products because you wanna save it for special occasions then they expire with you barely touching it? Break that baby out and use it! You are worth feeling good every day, not just on special occasions.

I used to do that years ago. I'd wear drugstore makeup every day, but splurge and save the department store for special occasions.

I have a bunch of ELF quads that I've only used maybe once or never at all. I also have almost all the smaller Too Faced palettes, Buttered Rum, Kitty likes to scratch, etc. They get buried. Oh and lots of the loreal infallible small square singles. Do I remember them, nope because they're all buried under all the "new" stuff. I'm seriously considering doing an entire no buy next year in a lot of categories. Makeup is 1 of them.
I haven't been able to spend money on make up for months now, so I happily re- discovered my Hour Glass pallet, my Natasha Denona mini eye pallet and an older MakeUp Geek limited edition eye pallet and honestly I've been perfectly satisfied.
Even though I can’t wear all those face products I still love watching you. At 60 I’d have cake face but you look great!

I love this idea! I know this sounds crazy, but I have SO MUCH makeup that it's overwhelming and I feel like I do my makeup less often for that reason. I'm in the process of a RUTHLESS declutter, and I'm committed to investing my money in things I know I will like and use from now on, rather than buying every single thing that's released just because it's new. I'm so over that whole FOMO mentality!

I've been using the Milani Highly Rated tubing mascara for about 5 months. This mascara doesn't flake or make my lashes feel brittle - I put abit of mascara on first - then wait about 5 minutes or so, then apply more mascara. I noticed that my lashes have more volume . It removes very easily with warm water too. Take care everyone 🌹

I am still using my hourglass palette from 6/7 years ago. Now I used the 4 powders within the first 12 months. What I’m still working my way through is the 2 blushes.
Funny…I just pulled a banana bread out of the oven and was thinking as I was making it with my son that it’s undoubtedly the recipe I make more than anything else. Love it!
Video idea: things my viewers want me to do with my makeup, for example I’d love to see you pull out your shadow way out and diffused on the outer corner like a smoky cat eye, or try straighter eyebrows, ect

Ice cream was nice. Cake was okay. Pie nah... but a Snow Cone?? That was MY JAM!! Either rainbow, or half blue (bubble gum) and half red (cherry).
I would go to any baseball game I could find because there was always a snowcone dude!

I haven't bought anything new (except to replace what I used up) in almost 2 years. I went thru a frenzy of buying during the covid years & quickly realized, around Christmas '22 that I have more product than I can use in this lifetime! So I'M USING IT. And yes, I'm combining various foundations and blushes ... as well as use eye shadows from different palettes in the same look - it works beautifully! I like these types of videos, thank you

I love that you use older products or even discontinued ones. A lot of TH-camrs say they can’t use something because it’s not available anymore. I still like to see it and, like you said, some people do still have those products!
You know, Emily… maybe at one point I would have been bummed if you used a limited edition or discontinued product because I could not get it anymore. However, nowadays there’s so many products out there that it is pretty easy to find something similar, and you are always so good about mentioning similar products. Not to mention… I come to “hang out” with you, not so much for the products anymore. I’d much rather see you talking up “old stuff” than seeing more of all the new stuff because the new stuff just feels like it’s the same stuff different brand! :) and bonus of using the older products, it is going to be stuff not everyone is talking about and it’ll also give your videos some variety in products for textures, colors, formulas, packaging (i.e., everyone is about cream blushes now. If you bring out your powders, you’re doing something different)
Oh definitely have 4 hourglass palettes. 1 lives at work because it’s great for mid-day touch ups!

As for merch, how about a sweatshirt that shows an outline of your face and hair with only your brows and blushy cheeks as facial features. And don’t forget the big floppy bow on top. 😅
I do have an hourglass limited edition palette, it's the Ambient Lighting Edit: Universe and I saw somewhere that they were going to bring it back, I might be dreaming it lol but I LOVE that palette, the tones are gorgeous, nice distribution, I use it all the time mainly on clients. I love the concept of using what we already have, I do this all the time, I am never bored with what I love. We need to see more of this type of content!

My 2 year old binned my hourglass ghost palette (the silver and clear one) and I've been heartbroken ever since. Bought their limited editions every year after, and nothing compares to ghost.Though not this year as jellyfish was sold out. 😢
I started doing a blush tag: pick a blush and combine with each blush in your collection. Once you've used the 1 blush with all the others, tag in another blush! It's been so fun and I've used every blush I own at least 4x this yr!

I keep my elf quad in blue shades close as it’s lovely with a basic nude eye either under the eye or as a thick ‘liner’ above the top lashes. Gorgeous pop of colour! Thanks for being you Emily.

I used my Elf Bitesize quad in Hot Jalapeno the other day. I've had it since December and never used it. I absolutely LOVED the look. I've seen some negative reviews on that particular one and it turned me off using it, but I actually really rate it now.
This was a very timely video for me, as I am reorganizing my makeup drawer. I love using singles from Wet n’ Wild as either a matte base on my lids or to add a pop of shimmer at the end.
How about another singles cruise? I loved those videos! Also like seeing how single shadows are incorporated in looks.
Yes to brown lips, I’ve also been obsessed with brown lipliner to add that undertone to everything . I think it really accentuates my lip shape. I just can’t bring myself to draw over my cupids bow either.

I went back to work in February for the first time in a really long time so I’ve been wearing make up almost every day, and although I could afford a new make up I have been giving myself challenges like using the same pallet for a whole week, not bad with a full pallet kind of challenging with a small L’Oreal pallet but I finally hit pan on a bunch of things and absolutely in the challenge has been a full week of only using face products for my three hour glass collections, Including weeks of only using that on my eyes as well, thank you for the inspiration every week and the company because you are delightful

I have textured skin and love light coverage foundation with powder foundation. Light enough to not feel like spackle on the face. Full coverage enough to smooth out the look of my pores.

I love the ELF bite sized shadows! Thanks for using Pumpkin which looks great with my auburn hair/hazel eyes. I have all colors including the two new ones (heavy on the greens.) Also been using those Kajal shadow sticks since LG brought them to QVC. One day I'll buy a mini of a Hourglass blush. They look so nice on you.

So funny i got a expensive cream bronzer thats to orange. Ive been enjoying mixing it with blushes and bronzers that are to dark rather than waste it. And it ups the looks. Mixing products was good advice for when you have time for sure. Your kitty is precious btw.

A great video idea! I have an app on my phone called spin the wheel and have made different wheel categories like blush, foundation, eye shadow singles/palettes, etc. & will spin the wheel and use whatever product it lands on in my look for that day. It really helps me use the products in my collection that I may haven't reached for recently.
Have You ever done a video on organizing makeup? Not sure what organization tools and techniques work best for starters to build upon. ❤
I've been mixing my mascaras for years. I am very particular about mascara, and since Max Factor 1000 Calorie mascara was taken off the market I have been unable to find any one mascara that I truly love, but I can get really really close using two different mascaras together. Using a coat of the Revolution Relove under almost anything always pushes it all the way to the top for me.
I started making a wish list out of stuff I want to try. When I run out of something I pick off the list that category. This way I am using what I have. It feels good to actually use up a product and didn’t waste my money. I also do my makeup much more often because I am not overwhelmed with how many products I have.
You absolutely should start making merch for t-shirts or hoodies that say when in doubt use more blush is great. I'd buy a T-shirt that said that from you. ❤
My aunt bought me the marble looking hourglass pallet for my birthday one year. I’m still using it regularly. I’m actually almost through the bronzer part of it. I love that pallet so much!
I used the powders and one highlighter up in less than a half a year. There is actually very little product in the palettes if you use it daily

Pretty sure I have the first Hourglass 6pan! I've learned most large face palettes aren't for me, though I do like this one. It did cause me to get singles of Hourglass blush, powder, and bronzer. Use those much more frequently!
I love to dig deep and use something I haven't used in a while! Maybe to mix things up, you can do a 'pallette ' bingo with some of your small pallette collections! I always loved seeing what you created.

Video idea: a drugstore and/or concealer showdown. The best of the best. Maybe powder too! Or the same thing in a high end version.
I love layering mascaras. I need both lengthening and thickening for my lashes and it’s rare to find a mascara that can do both. So I like to use one of each. Years ago, Too Faced used to sell a mascara duo and then I realized you could do it with different mascaras (but of course sometimes you have to experiment.)

I absolutely love the two faced skin tint. It is one of the best skin tints I have ever tried! I can't believe they discontinued it. I got mine for 15 bucks!

Reminds me that it's been eons since I used my Maybelline City Mini Palette in Rooftop Bronzes. Such a pretty palette for summer! The only downside to it is that it doesn't have any mattes in it which means I have to pull out another product to get a simple everyday eye look.
I layer essence lash princess over any and all mascaras! I’ve never actually used it alone, but it layers so beautifully with every other mascara.

I have that same Hourglass palette! I’ve been trying to use it more lately, it’s the only Hourglass palette I have besides a highlighter trio from a few years ago. I love see you using it-everyone always talks about the latest and greatest Hourglass palette but I feel like none of them are really that different!
