      I and friends have had so many discussions about this. I think, for starters, that damages to civilians for LEO wrongdoings should come out of the police pension fund and not be paid by taxpayers. If these so-called good cops have skin in the game they will quickly come down on the "bad" cops who are supposed to be such a minority of the officers.
      Also, if a LEO is found guilty of these crimes they should not be allowed to resign. They should ALWAYS be fired. Resigning just allows them to go to another police department and be hired again.

      According to OP her brother wasn't the best cop or person, sleeping with a colleague's wife and having beef with the DA. It shouldn't have affected the investigations or trial however as it doesn't have anything to do with his job.
      You're also correct in that a lot of good, honest cops are mistreated or thrown under the bus for not letting it slide when another cop commits crimes or misbehaves in other ways.

      The real takeaway is the rot in the legal system that allows DAs to overcharge and also have someone sit in jail for two years. He was not a threat to others, he had strong family support, and bail should have been set.

    She got into his police database? That's uhhhhm... not how it works. Everything is logged, there are keyloggers on all police computers, and logs all activity. This would have easily and quickly been found out. And why would a state trooper be involved in a local investigation unless he was also a state trooper? Also how did she get custody of a child that was not hers?

    The cousin and girlfriend of story 3 are a special kind of scum. Sure., most people with a savior complex don't care about the victims regardless of how much they say otherwise, but here her motives are so blatantly obvious and she's scary.
    I'm sure in her head, she would force OP to reconcile with her dad and stepmom then boast about it online and use it as ammunition against her siblings saying "see? She forgave her family who wronged her, why can't you forgive me?!?!?!"
    If only OP's pesky free will, she would've had her happy ending... not.

    2nd OP is the asshole for abandoning his daughter so he wouldn't have to pay child support.
    If he didnt want to pay why would he not just try for primary custody or at least 50-50? Cause it sounds like he's the most stable option for the kid if he actually wanted it and wanted custody, but it sounds like he just wanted to be a weekend dad or not a dad at all, and he just chose his money over his kid.
    Also there's no strings attacked in the third story but there is a clear hope that OP would reconnect with those two, especially since she's accepting extravagant gifts from them. It IS a little greedy to take their money and give them the impression you were thinking of resolving things.

  • @RylieRiddle
    @RylieRiddle 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +12

    S3: last comment is so stupid because they can't read when they want to make a point against the victim. Dad is trying to buy OP back, giving gifts and money with no strings because it makes him look a little better, to be seen as not trying to force reconciliation. She didn't demand anything or ask for anything because she doesn't want to interact with dad and his wife anymore.

    Story 2: He did nothing wrong and he's being told to pay $7400 a month. That's just not right. He didn't destroy the marriage, she did. He shouldn't be the one being punished for it. Yeah, him fleeing to Thailand and leaving his daughter leaves a bad taste in my mouth for sure, but I'm wondering if he's perhaps got other plans in the works. He mentions he's paying the ex in-laws $1000 a week for support and that the ex gave them custody. Is he saying she legally gave up custody or that the daughter is merely living with the ex in-laws because she can't afford to support both of them? If the ex in-laws have full custody, I'd try to see if they'd be willing to either give him custody so she could be with him or at least allow her to visit him in Thailand occasionally. Perhaps he's waiting until she's older before doing that. It definitely seems like he wants to remain in his daughter's life. I don't know all the legalities of how all of this would work but I'm sure he's trying to make something happen.
