I LOVE this! I like how they use the frantic climax when you're in duel with the zombies, and the more magic, ethereal music in the entrance corridor and initial scenes. The original Duel music was fantastic too - be good if they could somehow incorporate that in the ride, but this is equally as excellent. Thanks for sharing!
It is a great piece of music and much better on the headphones than out of Duel's speakers but I would really rather it was in sections for different sections of the ride (like the original soundtrack).

Only just discovered they changed to this :o It's... ok, a bit generic - doesn't stick in my head for hours afterwards making me want to go back for another round of zombie-blasting.
I really like this soundtrack but I feel like it fits more with the exterior of the ride as it is much more creepy sounding, but it dosent carry that sence of adrenalin the last one had especially as it builds to a climax just dosent seem as rewarding of a finish anymore with the new ending music
I disagree. This music also builds up and changes as you progress through the ride. Listen to the last couple of minutes in this video, how is that not a satisfying climax!
@@CaeiTridz I mean compared to the start of the video it is hyped up more, but after you get past the intro segment as you pass the room with crumbling walls and enter the main part of the ride where there are targets, it's just kinda the same speeded up version of the exterior music with more arround it but it still dosent get more intense as you go further after that point, and sure the old music did a similar thing once that point was passed as well, but the ending did change a lot in the final seconds to just give it a good conclusion instead of just stating the same and maybe a little more intense
I feel this version should be used for the outside bit and the queue but in the actual ride they should use the old one because it fits better with the atmosphere of the fast paced shooting.
Can you upload the full version of the version you made during the Window Zombies, Spiders and Electric Bill/Skeleton Corridor? Nice piece, whilst I prefer the original version as it psyches you up, this is definetely creepy and catchy in it's own right XD

@@MrMattDavis75 I believe it’s just the same tempo and key throughout but through different speakers, with more bass from bass bins and sound effects from different speakers. Just probably feels different as your paying attention to everything around you instead of just the music :)
The literal only good thing about the Duel retheme was it’s soundtrack, now they’ve taken that it really does show how well merlin can completely fuck up a great ride. Poor thing is going to suffer a long winded and painful death, might aswell change all the animation inside for cardboard cutouts while they’re at it
Well have I got news for you. I think Duel has a chance of a Good future, as John Wardley was spotted riding it back in May, along with John Burton. Wardley was carrying a book of unused ideas and concept art, potentially from the Haunted House years!! It'll be interesting to see where this'll take us.

I really hope they revert it back to the HH, keep the remaining Haunted house scenes, refurb them back to their original state in 92, but take out one of the scenes that aren't iconic, like the Giants lair. Remove that scene and the zombie finale and replace them with new scenes. I really don't want them to rip out the ride and its scenes, they're so iconic in the UK and make up for a really unique Ghost Train.

After letting it sink in for a few months, I still dont like this soundtrack - I'll always prefer the previous theme for being iconic and having a melody you can remember.
imo the first one is overly repetitive and and this is much more suiting to the ride as it has more variety and the opportunity for the music to steady and also become increasingly more dramatic at different points of the ride, something which the previous soundtrack didn't have

The old soundtrack was absolute garbage. I know this is a fun filled shooting game, but it's also a dark house filled with ghosts, zombies and spiders, and this is much more fitting for that atmosphere.
The last soundtrack was perfect. The high tempo gave it a sense of adrenaline and almost desperation. Felt like something out of the live action Scooby Doo. The new soundtrack is dreary, slow and depressing.

Yeah, I really like the visuals, sounds and smells and stuff at Alton Towers, it's mostly hand sanitiser smell now though lol
The smell of 'hex' is great too

Tom Howes yes because it is meant to have a haunted feel
Not as dun or feel as interactive as the old one, it would fit better if it wasn't a shooting horror ride.
