    I had some of these in South Florida. They will also reproduce on their own. My 3 starter bulbs turned into about 12 if I remember correctly. I moved from Palm Beach co. To Port St Lucie and they all died in the first year. I can't keep anything alive here. I miss Palm beach for flowers and butterflies.

    A few weeks ago I just found this random flower blooming in our garden. It's been so dry though. It hasn't rained this entire year, I was surprised.

      Oh wow! These plants are incredible and clearly drought tolerant

    They are so eager to bloom. The flowers and leaves are so unique and more beautiful than amaryllis foliage imo.

    • @plantvibrations

      the foliage alone is worth the plant!

      @@plantvibrations And the foliage last so much longer than typical amaryllis from my experience. Cool plants. Where are they native to?

    I just planted 3 of these bulbs yesterday! They had a teeny tiny neck which I left out of the soil like you suggested. They are currently in a pot on my porch (it is very warm here so going for rapid growth).
    Your video skipped from day one to one month in already flowering. I’m curious about the time in between: how long until you started to see growth in the necks? How often should I rewet the soil to avoid wet rot but provide enough moisture while outside on the porch?

      When it starts to cake dry give it some water. The necks pop up within ten days or so

    I'm in London UK and came on line to find out more about the bulb I'm about to plant. Really good information here so thank you. Do you leave yours in the pot ready for next year or do you take them out and store them once all the foliage has died back?

    I live in Houston Texas. My blood lilies have been in the ground from day one. That’s about 15 years. What time of year should I dig them up to trans plant ❓❓ BTW they are in clay dry soil… neglected and forgotten until they bloom in August or September

    • @plantvibrations
      @plantvibrations  ปีที่แล้ว

      Wow that’s so cool, wish I could have them in the ground. I’d transplant just after they’ve flowered

    Hi, I have an African Blood Lily bulb that's been sitting inside in a pot all winter. Im going to put it outside in a few weeks (I'm also in PA); however, mine has no neck. The bulb is solid, the roots are thick and white, and the growth plate is intact, just... there's no neck. There's a divit where the neck should be, and you can see down into the center of the bulb. It's the oddest thing. Is there anything I can do to encourage a sprout at the neck?

    • @plantvibrations
      @plantvibrations  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It sounds like it is dormant. When it’s warm and you place it outside it should grow

    Hi Devin, I bought 6 bulbs from you on QVC about 6 years ago. My bulbs shrunk and quit blooming last year probably because I’m in Texas and let them grow all winter with only 1 month of dormancy. I just did not know how to care for them in winter. When are you going to sell them again? Where can I buy them?
