I really like the towel you have hanging on the door, almost looks like a small quilt! I saw the Afta ‘Original’ in the store about a year ago and didn’t get, but now I’m kicking myself because it’s become nearly impossible to find in the U.S. I have the other Afta ‘Fresh’ though and that’s a great scent as well.
Great shave. My SOTD is gonna be of the King C Gillette razor with the blade of the same name on its third use, Omega 10066 brush, SW Carpathia soap, AV Musk AS and the Gillette Aftershave Lotion. Like you and most people, my neck is where I always have to clean up after my three passes. Every time I do a cleanup pass on my neck, I hear “pickup time baby!” in my head even if I don’t say it out of my mouth

Today for the first time I did a 3-pass shave using the R-4 plate. Stirling soap, alum, witch hazel, Osage Rub, and Nivea body shaving lotion were my accomplices. Only a couple of minor weepers as I emulated the PailHFilms nick-up time. But I must say that I had one of the closest and most comfortable shaves I've had with the 6C. I find it to be a bit on the aggressive feeling side. My SOTD was with a Gillette Z3 Super Speed and a Gillette 7 O'clock SS, Semogue 1470 boar brush, Williams Mug Soap and Denim Black after shave. Me too, recently I’ve started using a merkur 33C for pickups only, I never use it for a full shave because it’s not aggressive enough but it perfect for doing just pickups, no nicks/cuts 👍
Hi Paul I also enjoy the traditional scents it takes you back.the other day I used erasmic soap the reason I bought it was it was a soap my father along with Parmolive used.. I finally got around to trying MWF. I have considered it for s long time but had doubts about the lanolin but now I have tried it fantastic and don't understand how people claim it's hard to lather. My only concern is how quickly it dries and starts to crack. Many thanks for the giveaway. Keep well and keep safe.

Can you do in the future a reveiw of the 'Soluna' razor, the reason is i think it's a superb and a daily razor to use with, much more better than the 'Yuma' because the threding never wores out like the yuma! Been useing it from 1990-2019 and i must say it has never let me down! Still in good shape how can i say; it's angle is just right does the job, but i have changed it and i now use the Karve razor!

Truth: you don't need expensive gear to get a good shave. Frankly, I think a good pairing of razor, blade, and shave soap/cream is most important. Some things just don't work optimally together. SOTD: 1930 Gillette NEW razor loaded with an early 2000's Gillette Platinum (Swede) blade (8th use). Proraso Red shaving soap lathered with a That Darn Rob 26 mm BOSS synthetic brush. Finished with Thayer's Coconut Water skin toner and PAA Atomic Bay Rum aftershave. Those Gillette Swede blades are really good; smooth and long lasting. My reward was BBS. Paul, you and I have that in common...we must be smoothly shaven and that is to nicks. Yes, the blood must flow! Congratulations to the winner! Oh, yes, 1960 Williams Ice Blue Aqua Velva "There is something about an Aqua Velva man!". If you use this Aqua Velva straight with moistened hands, it will put moisture back into the face. It is a really good humectant. J.B. Williams Co. claimed it was scientifically formulated. I am a believer. Great shave Paul. As always, stay healthy and safe. Take care.

It's been horrible over here, Paul. In Chiang Mai, where I live, we have had the most polluted air in the world this week. It is playing havoc with my skin and causing irritation😡😡😡😡😡😡😡. It hard to breathe and you can feel the pollution on your skin after being outside for only moments.

@@rugermk22 You can google "Williams Ice Blue Aqua Velva Snow Mobile" and you can see the box. The box I had was badly sun and water damaged. I felt it would be an insult to give such a box. As to the scent: If you compare the the modern USA version to this vintage USA version...the vintage is way nicer, fuller, ricer. It just screams original. The closest modern version is made is Spain. It is close, but the original is best. YMMV.

I have an Gilette tech handle from a worn head ,then put on the Lord L-6, it's more balanced and gives great close shaves.

I rarely nick myself now after about 5 years of DE shaving. However on the 2nd neck pass, I always say to myself: "Pick up time, baby!"

Like I always say, “pick up time is nick up time”. 99% of the time it’s the same as you, I over do it in the quest for a BBS shave.
