      Yeah I think so too mate. I was kind of expecting it to be slow, I was surprised. So it should be fun on a track. Thanks mate! 👍

    you need to run thinner wire mate

    • @RCHobbyShed
      @RCHobbyShed  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, being only 1s I could run thinner wire. 👍

    hey man, local here. Nice car. just built a sakura D5s myself. No good at drifting but it's fun trying. My TT01 is setup for track though. Great content mate!

      Thanks mate. Oh nice, I like those Sakura drifters. Haha I hear ya, I'm no good at drifting either (even with 4wd) but it is great fun. The TT01 would be great on a track, I'm hoping to take mine to a track soon. Thanks mate, glad you enjoyed it. 👍

      @@RCHobbyShed The Sakura D5S is defo not a beginner drift model, so i'm changing it up a bit with new motor mounts and knuckles. Better ESC and Servo. Pretty good value for the money. And i might build a proper RR Porsche if i cant get it to drift properly. That TT01 of yours will go better with bluetac locked diffs front and rear for drifting. Alternatively, put some grippies on it and we can have a friendly race at Templestowe some time. My RX7 TT01 vs your GTR TT01. for content or just for fun. Either way you seem like a smart oldy like me. Happy Days!

      I know mine is 1/12, it's even in the name (X12) but Tamiya Legends said he wants 1/10 scale. Maybe he wants something like an X10? 🤔

    What model Futaba receiver are you using? I can't find one that supports 1S.

      Hi Brian. I'm using a Futaba R304SB. If I remember right, I did try a Futaba R202GF. Both are meant to operate at 4.8v-7.4v but the R202GF didn't work at all, yet the R304SB works 🤷‍♂️. If not had an issue R304SB, seems to work nicely. 👍

    Will a castle 1406 and mamba x fit in there?

    • @RCHobbyShed
      @RCHobbyShed  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The motor should fit but the ESC will be tricky because of it's size. Will really depend on what body is used.

    Pretty fast for a 1 cell lipo i wonder how it would do on 2s? Probably uncontrollable haha

    • @RCHobbyShed
      @RCHobbyShed  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Haha it would be nuts on 2s. To avoid the temptation, I chose a 1s only ESC. 👍

      @@RCHobbyShed haha there ya go! I would have done the same except I didn't even know they made only 1s esc's lol

    Had an ayk is in running (1/12pan car early 90's. ) Now it sits on the shelf parts are pretty much non existent.. even on the brushed 540 it was quick and good at hoovering up the dust/dirt..

    • @RCHobbyShed
      @RCHobbyShed  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That would be quite collectable now! Yeah, not many parts around for the older AYK cars these days. Haha yeah, the pan cars are good hoovers! 🙂👍

      @@RCHobbyShed funny thing is that even though it was so close to the ground it was unbreakable.. aside from the first pinion gear melting . I just wish I bought a few of them. At about $80 (1990/91) how much each one would get from those hunting for them now... 💵 especially since they included the mechanical speed controller.. which was a direct servo mount (piggy-back) no arms like Tamiya just direct contact like a steering wheel with contacts touching the circuit board..
