Thank you for another interesting colour chat. I can’t believe a dyer would sell a thread that hadn’t dyed all the way through. White speckles must stand out a mile! Off to stitch my blue green now.
Thank you Ros, you put so much work into this and I do appreciate this. Sorry that you have been unwell, I hope you fully recover soon. I had not thought of reversing floss to get rid of the line, I just can't be bothered to stitch randomly ( I did end up doing this once and it's not my preferred stitching method). As regards your content I would appreciate anything that would help me to choose my own colours.
I have a total love hate relationship with variegated floss. I want to love it and I love a tonal variegation e.g. GAST but whenever I have used a very variegated e.g. very different colours I'm often dissatisfied with the result.
Lots of thorough examples. I'll have to experiment with some of my own variegated threads. Thank you for sharing ❤
You’re welcome!

Yeah, I wasn’t impressed.

Randomness is always harder than it sounds! I’ll have a think about choosing colours.
Oh, the dreaded white speckles!
Exactly!

I think it is a common experience. Hopefully understanding how the different colours in it will work together will help a bit.
