One thing I appreciate - jazzw4ve never jumps the gun on the reveal. It's always a regular intro that just builds anticipation, and lots of the reveals are slowly dropped on you. I really like that the song structure gets you excited for what's to come, and then the interwoven songs in the background are just so goddamn well done. Props to jazzw4ve 🙌🙌
that's actually so true, when I first saw "Smooth Moves", I thought it would be Smooth and Moves Like Jagger. but they fooled me with the Smooth Criminal and Bee Gees, THEN brought in those two. fucking insane
That last song, "Something else", *almost* sounds like a really intense/emotional final boss fight in a game.
or the ost of a bad ending where everything is gone
I think this a significant upgrade to Copywrong, as it doesn't have those moments where too many things are happening. Parts of Copywrong sounds like they were incredible ideas swamped with noise, but Something Else is an excellent example of lesss being more.
Outstanding work.
"Around the world" kicking in felt like transcending. Holy shit.

god this album really cements jazzw4ves place among the big 3 of mashup albums (neil, pluff, jazz) at least imo especially considering how short it took for this one

Holy... Man, Sweeter Dreams was SO GOOD. I knew it was Roundabout from the first cutout sound and, like, when Jordan came in I had a mini heart attack... Jazzwave does some amazing mashups, props to you bro.

Jazz learned and learned fast since the previous album.
I mean the previous album was good too, but this is... well, this is Something Else.
Sweeter Dreams did take a hot minute to "get into it" but boy did it finale.
Comparatively, everything else just jumped right in.
And it's like, everything is predictable but also *not.* Like I expected Shaniah Twain in Walkin' but got Daft Punk instead.
I expected Warioware in Smooth Moves, but I got... well... no just listen.
By the by, anyone have the track list for Something Else? I only recognize the one song, but the keyboard/piano sounds incredibly familiar. Sounds like something out of a rhythm game but I can't pinpoint it.

I think Something Else seems smoother than Copywrong because Copywrong tracks would have an, at worst, okay first half that would transition into piling so many things as possible at once into the second half it skips being muddy and straight to swampy.
Something Else meanwhile has a lot less going on at any given second of a track which lets the components that are there breathe and sink in.

I would like to know how jazzwave comes up with these ideas. What's the thought process if any at all? Do they just mash songs together until they find a solid base and build from there or is it literally just lucky accidents?
