That's what I've been thinking for about a week now. Neil Cicierega, Pluffaduff, Jazzwave... Soundclown, memewave, memecore, whatever you call it. Their tracks are so damn well structured that I think they're more akin to plunderphonics. Like The Avalanches. Reducing them to 'meme' status is practically a disservice to the work that goes into this stuff.

Glad to know that everyone loves summoning circle as much as I do! I had that same experience where the song started and it was just "huh?" And it kept going and it was "HUH?" And finally just realizing that it is an absolute masterpiece.
If I was told the titles of these songs, I would say that they wouldn’t work together, but in practice it sounds crazy!

@@Ph0ton I'll never be able to hate on Imagine Dragons vocals, i have Warrios burnt into my brain from how much it dominated my league of legends infested brain for over a year. League Season 2 world championships were probably the most hype E-Sports event i will ever be involved in and Warriors just unironically carried the whole thing.

I like how everything on this album is chill vibes that are depressing but still pleasant to listen to or upbeat vibes that are just super slow that it feels relaxing-
And then you get to summoning circle and are entering the 9 circles of hell but it’s still fits the tone of the album, just the *scary* kind of chill vibe. Also cannot at all blame Jazz for using two imagine dragons tracks, I get why some people don’t like them due to massive oversaturation-seems like every time they drop a new album it always gets played too much on the radio lol-but they have such a unique way of using instruments that it’s perfect for mashups if used correctly, which Jazz understood and took full advantage of here. They are a master of their craft and I applaud them.
Always a good day when Acai takes psychic damage from a mashup.

The look of resentment, despair, disbelief, realisation and then appreciation that hit in less than a second at 1:13 is the perfect reaction to mashups in general. You hate the creator for putting you through this, then your brain begins the slower process of going "wait... hang on, this slaps..."
Jazz being able to splice together songs in different time signatures without it sounding awful is a feat in and of itself, but then they go ahead and make ABSOLUTE BANGERS
