You were right about the filming for the 3 Geoff heads. He did them in front of a green screen but without any shirt so he could get a clean cut. He & his wife did all the filming for this. He put out a really interesting BTS for this on his Patreon channel. Also for all those out there hoping for "You're A Mean One Mr. Grinch" Geoff stated in the live chat during the premiere for this song that VP will be doing it in November! Hopefully he wasn't just pulling our chains!! 😍

This is why I love Geoff. Like, no offense to Tim Foust from Home Free, what Geoff has that I've just not seen from Tim at the same level is that character presence. On top of that, Tim tends to be... tinnier on the vowel shapes for me. More of the country twang that I don't care for as much at times where it really doesn't serve the song. But Geoff... he has it down pat. Also, I think that on his channel, he has poetry readings, like The Raven.

So funny thing: that "sucking" wasn't actually a special effect. That was an inverted vocal slide, which he's going from low to a high (relatively) note kind of in the opposite of his Poor Unfortunate Souls, only within his bass octave
If I'm not mistaken this is an adaptation from the version by Thurl Ravenscroft, who made a cover from an animated movie I do not recall the name for, let me check it for you
