Thanks for this video... this was great in so many ways. My son is going to be 9yo and almost 58" and 26-27ish" inseam. He has been riding a 20" until this spring when we noticed how small that bike is looking. He sprouted like a weed this winter. On paper, he is right at the line between a 24" / 26" bike. But, seeing your son on that 24" make it a no brainer, right? He will have way more fun on a 24" even if it is only for another season or 2. I have an old 26" GT Ruckus that I use for mountain/jumpin/thrashing and it is huge next to him. But, seeing your son throw that 20" around like a bmx'r is pretty cool too... makes me wanna keep it around for him to play at the park.
Yes I always tell parents you want to get the bike kids will grow out of next not the one they can grow into. They will end up being much better riders on a bike they can move around
Awesome vid bud. I’m in the middle of finding a bike for my boy. He definitely best suited for a 20” but not many choices around for that size where I am. (Looking for pre loved bike) I was considering buying a 24” and just slapping on 20” wheels. Would that have very poor geometry? I could also put slightly shorter cranks. Your input would be great!! Thanks bud!
Funny. I went from a 20 inch kids mtb to a 24 mtb (neither one dirt jumpers. At the height of 5" 1". Now I'm 5" 3" and on a 26. So much better. It's funny that Jake at 4" 8" uses a 24 inch DJ. The same size I had 8 months ago.
Was. I was into other sports at the time. So I wasnt riding my bike as often. I went on a few rides one that bike. A month later I had a 24" inch giant that I rode like heck. Know it my dirt jumper and my main bike is a 2001 kona nunu 26"
But mountain biking is the best thing that has ever happened too me, I really want to get more people on bikes, especially during these times because there is nothing else to do for people that aren't that active. I think mtb is the best way too workout, because you have a lot of fun with it, and it teaches you so much about you and the world around you.
I figure I better skip both and buy a Kawasaki Ninja 1000SX. My thought process is yes I almost died on a 750 but, it was the trucks fault not my own so I should be a big enough boi for a liter bike.

How did you earn all the money to buy one of these?
Jake saves all his money, but he bought and sold a few bikes to be able to afford this one.
